  1. I have just ordered a heap of custom motorcycle parts from a US company call Cruiser customizing They tell me the parts will take 2 to 6 weeks to get to me in Isaan depending on how quick they move through Thailand customs

Anyone have any idea of how long it will take once in thailand

Anyone have any trouble bring in parts. Its a bit over $2000 worth of gear so I hope it gets treated OK

    Thanks

What sort of custom parts are they, if you have a photo of the parts there is a guy in Korat that makes all sorts of custom parts for Harleys and any sort of bike, he also makes custom bikes for shows, it would be a lot cheaper using him than importing them into Thailand, my custom bike is going there next month for some rear rests, same as harley and a few other things, he also makes bars for harleys which he ships to the states, with all the cables out of the way inside the bars, top man, i will bring your parts kringle when i get them.

Also my mate and i are going to start a bike club up in Buriram if you are interested, as i have a custom Dragstar, in a thai magazine next month.

  2. I have a 3 year old Daughter, born in the UK, my Thai wife returned to Thailand 1st week in july with my two Daughters, she came back from Thailand 31st August, with myself, my Daughter has a UK Passport, we did not pay any overstay for the child, last year i got a 3 months visa for her, the immigration guy in Bangkok told my wife, no need to get a visa for a child, so this year we did not bother and had no problems. i am also going to get her a Thai passport in the future.

  3. What good would a thread be without pictures?  :o

This is the reason why I want to torture myself...  ugh

I have bought an Isuzu D-Max Highlander 4 cab 4X4 had it 12 months, good bit of kit for out in the sticks, Nice porsche, mine was the earlier model the old shape, in mint condition, and only 53,000 miles, got a good price for it so sold it, i would of knackered it in Thailand, as all the guys have said, roads are no good, traffic, servicing, better off with a 4x4 or maybe a merc.

  4. Hi Guys, thought you fishermen out there would like to know that a new fishing resort in Krasang is opening, two big lakes, accomodation, shop etc, there are some big fish there to, up to 20 kilos, my mate has opened it, i was there last week fishing, they are making a good job of the place, they are also going to do night fishing, anybody wanting info e-mail me.

  5. Concidering having my missing tooth replaced (3 tooth bridge) in Bangkok. Have contacted both the Bangkok Dental Home and the Bangkok Dental Hospital. Bangkok Dental Hospital seems to offer more personal attention, anyway in replying to my inquires.  However, there are a slug of dental shops coming up in my online searches and these were the only two I contacted.

Seems as though the $2,200.00 Cali procedure is about a grand in Thailand,  $250.00 in Cebu and  while in Saigon I had two estimates  $250.00  and $750.00.  You guessed it, I travel a lot so the savings could  pay a good part of my next trip.

However, my teeth are important and I'm not into pain so there is more than money on the line. One of the reasons I am leaning toward Thailand, I think some of the medical available is first class.

Any first hand experiences on Bangkok Dental Home or Bangkok Dental Hospital  or tips on having dental work done in Thailand.  Thanks - Doug

Back in the UK now, when i was in Bangkok a month ago i had all my teeth replaced by a dentist in the MBK Centre, first class work and no pain at all, well impressed, had a lower denture one implant and 8 crowns, a lot cheaper than the UK and a lot better service, i am scared to death of dentists having been to some butchers, but this guy in the MBK Centre is first class, i will post his name and address soon.

  6. http://earth.google.com/

Download your amazing 3d satalite world maps etc, from google, amazing bit of kit, you can zoom in on postcodes, in every country of the world, see what you think. gives you hotels and all sorts of info, i was amazed.

Zoom in on any part of Thailand, and according to google it is going to get a lot better in the near future, they are still working on it.

  7. I built a kit in the UK, took me ages but once it was finished, Awsome, it was a DAX 427 COBRA, 5.7 Blueprinted chevy v8 with 4 barral holleys and a hurst racing gearbox, metalic blue with white stripe and chrome sidepipes, if i was building a kit in Thailand this would be the one i would choose, only problem is getting the donor car, this was based on a Jag XJ6. it went like stink, you could spin the rear wheels while overtaking in 3rd. i would love to build one in Thailand, also would give us something to do.

  8. As Kringle said, i would buy it to, this land is most likely out of the way, no road frontage etc, thats why it is cheap, I have just bought another 22 rai in prackonchie, paid 20,000 per rai, that has road frontage, in a village, land will always go up in value, whereever it is, my wife and i now have over 100 rai, when we first started buying plots 10 years ago you could then pick them up really cheap, so if i was you i would snap this up.

  9. My Grandmother who has recently turned 92 wants to come to Thailand on holiday. She has been here before, but not for 10 years. She desparately wants to see our house and the way we live.

She has been a real world traveller who hasn't travelled abroad for about 2 years due to ill-health, or rather just old age. She is a tough old bird, who learned to fly a plane when she was 85 and had a trip in a hot air balloon for her 90th birthday.

I am worried that at this age it may be dangerous to fly, let alone to a tropical country. Obviously the hot season would be a bad idea. Maybe this should be posted on the health section. Is there anything else I should be thinking about regarding old people in Thailand - do the airlines look after them, if they get confused etc?.

Have you ever had old relatives over here?

Do any of you old retired folks have any problems?

    Cheers

    NN

She sounds one amazing lady, if she wants to come to thailand, well done to her, if she does, hope she enjoys herself, well done and good wishes to her.

My father go's to my place, he is late 70s, bit of a differance to your grandmother, but when he is there the thais look after him, i am sure your grandmother will be well looked after in Thailand and on the Aeroplane out, all the best.

  10. I'm looking for a particular kind of gold fish that is supposedly bred at fish farms in Thailand but for export to acquarium market overseas (Japan, Singapore, etc).  This particular gold fish has distinctive scale as you can see in the picture below (called "pearl scale") and very round in its shape.  Thais would call it "Kred Keaw" (or glass scale) though most Thais don't know this fish.  I have bought and brought 3 of them from Japan last year but they all died out in less than a year.  Now I hate to have to fly and go through all the security checks, immigration and customs with live gold fish again and I now have an uncomfirmed info that they are bred in fish farms in China, Thailand and Singapore, so contemplating getting one in Thailand.

I have already found a farm in Ayutthaya a few years ago but this pearl scale from Ayutthaya farm has come from "Oranda" strain (bottom pic) and I'm now looking for pearl scale of "Ryukin" breed/strain (upper two photos).  Does anyone know of a gold fish farm in LOS that breeds this particular strain (Ryukin) of pearl scale?  I've already looked up at JJ market, Sunday Plaza, etc but to no avail.  I would assume they are to be located in central provinces not far from BKK (Ratchaburi, Ayutthaya, Samut Prakarn, Samut Sakhorn, etc).

Try this place they maybe able to help or put you in contact with somebdy that can http://www.ppaquarium.com/

  11. I was selling on E-Bay, items from Thailand, stopped now selling these, a few of you guys will know what they were, went to court on Tuesday and got a fine of 1800.00 GBP, i have not been struck off as trading standards did not recieve any complaints, i have a 100% feedback, i have another product from thailand to sell now, and it makes big money, as i have tried it before. and it is legitt,

The fine of 1800.00 was peanuts compared to what i had made. i was very lucky not to land in the Monkey house, they also wanted to know about all my property in Thailand, and assets i had, i was very glad all assets in Thailand were in my Thai wifes name.
