  1. I used to export from thailand to UK, 20ft containers then onto 40ft high cube, stopped last year as the product was oversold here, we wiped out the market for our product in the UK, (dragons by the way) We used to buy in changmai hang dong village and it would go from changmai by truck to bkk onto ship then come to southampton via singapore. Pm me if you need shippers or anything special maybe i can help. I could do with some advice off you actually ted, I am looking at going long term in bangkok and looking for a bank account in sing, i am looking for good interest rates and atm card, do you know if this is possible with a bkk address? Maybe you could find out?

    Kindest regards

I was doing the same started about 6 years ago, Dragons and all sorts of carvings etc, benches, Guian's, cartwheels, i use to buy the cartwheels in Buriram and ship them up to Chaing Mai for packing, still got about 100 wheels in a yard up there, i want to sell, i was shipping 40 footers across to Felixstowe, also buying in Hang dong, as a mate of mine has a good Business there, i actually asked him to get Welsh dragons made for me, we designed them and they were selling well, the 6 foot ones, i was knocking out for 399.00 GBP, trouble with doing things like this and designing items, in a few weeks other thais are copying, i also have stopped doing it now, as people are flooding the market in the uk, when i started there were a handfull doing it, i use to use A & P Shipping in Hang dong, very good, but sometimes the packing was a bit untidy, so my mate use to pack the containers for me, no problems. if anybody is interested in buying some cartwheels, i have about 200 in my warehouse in Buriram and about 100 in Chaing-mai.

  2. The baked beans you can buy in Thailand are a lot tastier and bigger than Heinz, i alway bring a few cans back to the UK

That is of course a matter of personal taste.

The b beans I have tried in Thailand, are not haricot beans and the sauce is too sweet. Full of artificial sweeteners.

As I say tho, personal taste

I must have a sweet tooth, but they taste good, as you say we all have our personal taste.

  3. My List

    Good bread

    Good Sausages

    Proper English Mustard

    Good Mushrooms

Heinz Baked Beans - why does no one sell this already???

    Mince Lamb

The baked beans you can buy in Thailand are a lot tastier and bigger than Heinz, i alway bring a few cans back to the UK.

  4. I've begun posting some general introductory photos in the local forums to give an insight into each region of the country. In many cases I have photos to do the job, but in cases where I haven't spent much time in certain areas I need other pictures to fill in. Particularly for the following forums:

    Krabi

    Issan

    Pattaya

    Koh Samui

Ideally they should be unposed scenes of every life, or landscape/landmark shots. No posed photos of people please.

If you have some photos you think fit the bill, please upload them to the gallery and let me know.

I encourage everyone to make use of our gallery for both displaying and viewing photos of your life or vacation in thailand. A link to the gallery is at the top of every page. I will be featuring member's photos from the gallery in our local forums on a regular basis to keep things fresh.

When uploading to your gallery album be sure to note where the photo is taken, for the readers' reference.

    Thanks :o

  5. Hi again,

I think if u buy the bike in BKK and its registered here,u will have to change the ownership papers in BKK.But there will be no problem taking the bike to Buriram and keeping it there after. My old VFR was registered in Khorat so I had to go there and do all the paperwork before keeping it in BKK!:o

BTW>Did u have any luck buying a bulldog?

    Sky.

    Cheers steve,

I will be in Bangkok 11th August, may give you a bell about that dog,

  6. Hi Guys,

Getting into Bangkok on 11th August, seen a Yamaha Dragstar on the net , fully customised, amazing bit of kit, told the guy i would meet him to look it over and maybe purchase it, This bike has a Bangkok registration on, the question i want to know, is will i have to re register this bike by law with another plate, as it is going to Buriram, and thats where it will be kept. thanks guys.....

  7. i... bad food, to expensive, bad service

Does that bad service include the ฿30,000 bail money Martin put up for you when you went on one of your rampages?

I use to do ferangs favours lend them cash, etc, and in the end they kick you in the teeth, my moto now Martin, is look after number one, see you in August.

  8. My Friend is married Thai style, he got married in his Wifes village, she is a qualified teacher, every time she comes to the UK she has to have a tourist visa, costing about 40.00 GBP every time.

She now wants to marry in the British embassy xmas time, as she thinks it would be better for her to come to the UK on longer holidays, if she did get married uk style and took her husbands name in passport, would she still have to go for a visa every six months,

I have told my friend, i think she would still be in the same situation, the only way she could travel back and forth is to get a residency visa for two years in the uk, then have a uk passport,

if she has a uk residency visa can she still travel back and forth frequenty, i think she can only leave the uk on a short term every year, as when my wife comes back from thailand the uk immigration always asks her how long as she been away.

I think i am right, what is your opinions. cheers guys.

  9. I always get a taxi from Bangkok, i always stop at the mall in Korat, and it takes me straight to the house in Buriram, no hassle waiting around for planes, trains and buses, i pay about 4000 baht tops, also its good if you have a lot of luggage.

And the plane is a joke, it was ok when thai airways ran it, and it was only 980 baht, the time you are waiting in the airport, and if you are in Bangkok you have to get a taxi there, you are half way to Buriram, also i have never known Phuket air to run on time always delays.

  10. Get a yamaha raptor or Banshee racing quad, about 5 to 6 gran in the uk, they go like stink, i have just bought one and hope to get it shipped to Buriram, as i have said in a previous post, got some spare land, shail banks etc, thought about making a track.

    Big boys toys..

  11. Cheers Britmaverick, Thai ladys like to show off a bit, with there gold etc, i was really worried about her, i have told her before when in the airport waiting for taxi, take that damm gold off, you never know whos eying it up, espacially when she has a ferrang child with her, theres some dodgy guys out there, shes ok thats my main concern.....

  12. THANKS Guys, shes ok and booked in, flight came into Bangkok about 3.30, i have tried ringing, phone dead, rang hotel no trace of her, now they have e-mailed me back, she booked in on her thai passport, and she had problems with her mobile so she has gone and bought a thai simcard, nearly had a heart attack,

    Thanks Guys....

  13. please can one of you guys get the phone number of the Zenith hotel, nana nua Bangkok, my wife should of booked in there this morning, cannot contact her, her phone is dead, and so is my daughters, i am worried something may of happened, as i am in uk, and she was carrying quite a bit of cash, thanks guys.

    its not like her.

  14. There is a place that hires cars in Buriram, not sure of the strret, it is down by the Vong tong hotel , on the left, the guys name is Steve, i also will be in Buriram August September, if no luck try Martin at ferrang connection, above..........

  15. I bought a 60 inch Toshiba in Buriram at weemart, They wanted 110,000 baht for it, in the end they got a thai guy on the phone, the manager, he said if i pay cash today, been a sunday he would do it for 85,000 baht, which was a real bargain, he knocked 25,000 baht off, brilliant, this was an ex display model been there for about 7 months.

First day they brought this to the house, i connected the DVD, so now go's looking for a DVD to try it out, go's in my sister in laws room, she is 43 and never had a guy, found a DVD with kids cartoon on the sleeve, stuck it in the DVD player, and it shocked the ###### out of me,

MY SISTER IN LAW HAD EXTREME PORN, so i stuck it back in her room and nothing said, looking at her you would think butter would not melt in her mouth,

  16. Its the old story, Where is it, how far out of the city is it, does it border onto a road, if it's in the middle of know where it may sell for as little as 15 to 20,000 per rai, if it's 1 km out of the city with road frontage could sell for 500,000 per rai and above that, thats what land is fetching in Buriram, i also have about 100 rai, i have just paid 200,000 baht for 2 rai, and that is a bargain in my eyes, its 4Kms out of buriram with main road frontage,

You say your freind has 150 rai, if you go at 35,000 Baht a rai that is five and a quarter million, if he wants 3 million baht, sounds like a good deal, works out at 20,000 per rai, i would love to know where it is, if so i could try to advise you further, if it was close to Buriram i may be interested. e-mail me.

  17. I have 2 large lakes on the road Buriram-Surin, only a few metres off the heighway and 5 KMs outside Buriram, my idea was to open a fishing park with a garden centre, play area for the kids, and a small resturant, when a fish is caught you can charge by the kilo, i would have palms all planted around and fishing platforms, and thatched huts where people could sit and relax.

  18. I always remember 2 irish guys came into the Bamboo Bar at buriram, started complaining, making pratts of themselves, then they both ordered fish n chips, when the meal came, the one guy started moaning to wella, this aint cod, you get some idiots in Thailand.
