They 'asked' for two copies. We didn't offer. Plus one year record of bank transactions. Previously (not CW) only had to show the 400,000 on the day of application and after the 30 days under consideration.

Couple of weeks ago at CW we had to supply two copies of everything including every page of my passport including the blank pages. Go figure.

What you say is true but when you buy a holiday home in uk or eu how many strings are attached. Do you stll need to show your yearly earnings or savings? Do you have to invest xxxxx in some gov' scheme? Do you have to go through the 90 day report system? Do you have to submit loads of paperwork every year? I don't know, you tell me.

Physically you may not need the insurance but you have to think about the poor insurance companies that need your money. Others too might need a bit of it.

Don't worry, most tourists will happily spend as much on official letters, copies of signed by a lawyer, taxi and train fares, as they will on the holiday. Sarky button, where are you?
