Lengthy nightly bus trip to Surat Thani and the short ferry over to Samui as always has been.

I know about this ferry from Sattahip to Ko Samui. An overnight cruise of about 15 hours. And whether it operates at all is a game of luck. From Bangkok? Never heard about. Would be substantially longer like 17 hours or so.

In well managed hotels the mechanical keys are kept in a big hotel safe and accessible to management/trusted staff only. Unfortunately these electronic gadgets are often treated negligent like admin/master pin = 000000 (factory default). Or the ever same pin known down to the drunk parking assistant.
