  1. How many of the plane crashes can you stick to DMK? If Lauda Air thrust reverser goes on midflight this is a BOEING disaster. Design failure. Lauda went through the courts to clarify this. Planes crashing miles away ON THE WAY to DMK: what would you stick this to?
  2. May 22, 2014 Military coup. For two months no significant change in EUR/THB (~44.5). And after that a long period of gain for the THB started (EUR down to 34.5 in March 15, loss of more than 20%). Markets love stable dictatorships. Markets hate change/uncertainty. So I am not quite sure whether the current perspective of change does not affect the rate.
  3. Before leaving Thailand always think of worst case: cut off from the accounts. Prepare accordingly.
  4. Just yesterday I was confronted with a more hopeless case. Guy in Germany, Thai SIM expired, no more valid debit card. How can I connect to Kbank online? Answer: buy a flight ticket.
  5. That's true for SCB. I didn't need to go to the branch/ATM but switch off WiFi and connect via AIS mobile data. So they effectively check whether you/phone are in the country.
  6. Desperate fight of the old elite. Let's hope it won't end with violence on the streets.
  7. Likely made from Titan. I am not an expert but using a carbon fiber cylinder for that purpose? Some people swear that would not even sit in a 787.
  8. Some people need the thrill/excitement of risking their lives for basically nothing. Some can only afford some bungee jumping. Today some space tourists do an excursion in a Virgin Space ship for 200'000 USD.
  9. Bandwidth by theory is much more than needed (post above). As you say you did a speedtest to ToT and values are OK. Now it's about connections to overseas that can be much different. Popular youtube content is mirrored by Google somewhere in the region (Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand?) and should never make problems. But where does Netflix come from? I don't know. You connect via cable? What device? PC?

100% What a fuzz. Find the catalog of questions. Swat all things not obvious/different from home country (60m from intersection..., x m from pedestrian crosswalk, no parking beside the mailbox , right turn has right of way before oncoming left turn etc etc). Then circle with an automatic scooter on the yard, pay some xxx Baht and off you go on your new Hayabusa
  11. There was a routine influenza vaccination at the village health center here last week. Wife went in the morning: big crowds, came back. At noon: vaccine used up.
  12. I append "-site:aseannow.com". Usually works if no hefty typos in posts/threads
  13. Hmm Can't find more than the well known motoring forum: https://aseannow.com/forum/78-thailand-motor-discussion/ And therein a very long thread about electric vehicles in Thailand:
  14. This is from a friend in Pattaya (cropped and pixelated). The approximate Baht amount was rounded to 1000s and the rate being about the currency market rate (quite generous). On the other hand immigration will likely do the math too.
  15. An argument to do the re-entry at Suvarnabhumi (against my preference). But sure: always extension first however long the queue might be and then re-entry permit on that.
  16. Well, the Sandisk Extreme Pro 256 GB is 2090 Baht there. About 56 Euro. Not too good but a bit over the cheapest prices in Germany. So the price is not an indicator for a fake her. I have good experience with Advice: https://www.advice.co.th/ The misc types/classes of SD cards are confusing to me. Check carefully about data rates etc. https://www.advice.co.th/search?keyword=Sandisk+Extreme+Pro
  17. Nitpicking at KK. Thanks for head up. Will make sure that "pension" and "company pension" is certified. Will be my first attempt to use "income" statement after 11 years. Want to free my savings.

Sure. Just that this multiple choice test has more content, maybe some more swatting needed. Here an agent might be able to help with providing the full catalog of questions that are in English (still a small subset of all possible questions in Thai). I read somewhere that they now also have question about tax payment, registration and other legal stuff which I was spared in 2017. But still 45 of 50 questions have to be answered correctly.
  19. Don't tell anybody That was the reason why immigration urged consulates to check documents for the affidavit. Seems NZ didn't take that serious while other consulates simply stopped issuing.
  20. KhunBENQ replied to Roxy01's topic in Pattaya
If your home country and IDP do not have any motorcycle entry then the legal way would be to do it from scratch (as I did in 2017). The practical "driving test" is a joke. The hurdle is the multiple choice theory test. Much seems to have changed since then so my catalogue and experience is probably worthless. In Pattaya getting an appointment also seems to require patience. Can't comment on "shortcuts", you would have to ask agents what is possible or not. They would likely also help with the official path for a price.
  21. The amount is given in Canadian Dollar? German honorary consul in Pattaya also does affidavits and he didn't write that I have to fill any form. Documents (pension letter, account statements) seem enough. And it's not for free (about 1400 Baht).
  22. You could either read that hotspot is totally prohibited or is just within the "fair usage" rules. As written mine works.
  23. Just checked on Lazada and see much higher prices. Confused for now. Maybe they are now 5G capable while for mine (May 23) it was explicitly stated that it is 4G no matter what is printed on the package. 5G is not necessary for the typical application and data rates but now seems a good money maker. But still on the AIS website and no mention of mobile hotspot prohibited? https://www.ais.th/one-2-call/sim-netmarathon/en/
  24. Mine works fine as mobile hotspot. Sharing from my mobile and checked on my notebook which is now on AIS and has no SIM. Download 45.7 Mbit/s, upload 8.41. Numbers much due to fairly weak AIS signal in the home.
  25. And Suvarnabhumi(!) simply vanished from the list. How useful/reliable is such a site?: https://www.rainviewer.com/radars/thailand.html
