Not often that "Singapore News" get attention in the forum (about the NE monsoon)

Stop this silly wearing mask when riding a motorbike! (except you want to protect yourself from the tremendous amount of Diesel and other particulates). Stop this unsettling mask wearing of TV presenters! Just again yesterday I saw this Ch3 news "anchor" sitting alone with his mouthpiece. This is NOT a chemical weapons attack! Give back the smile of the lovely women presenters!

What I would expect. Much easier to find a Thai person than one of these "farangs". -

They took her ID? Didn't they? To me it says that she is registered as the person changing foreign money. I would say you stood next to her -

Care for a little episode from the 90s? A German mate went with his wife to Bangkok Bank with Deutsch Mark (DM) traveller checks. After a lengthy procedure he went out and was surprised about the remarkable amount of Thai Baht he got. But joy didn't last long. Soon after stepping on the road they ran after him. Sir sir! We changed US Dollar rate but boss found that this is Deutsch Mark -

That's what I assumed after reading your post. Still no change in the change procedure. Same like the 90s. Bet they wrote down the serial number of each note Fortunately I don't have the need to change foreign cash anymore. And if, I would look for a professional money changer. Bank rates always worse. Be happy that they took your wife as a proxy. Don't think what would have happened if they did it with your passport. More copies, more signatures, call central office ... -
I have successfully received supplements from a US company (Piping Rock, NJ) a couple of times without any hassle. Last shipment was here in 10 days! Package might have been opened for check. Not sure. But no customs. Shipment not cheap though. About 15 USD for 1.8 kg. Tracking shows: shipped by DHL to Frankfurt. Deutsche Post to here. So normal postal shipment. Other posters use iHerb from the US. Seems to be a more popular name.

Don't know the current "low" situation but at normal times there were plenty of transport options from Suv, Just shout Hua Hin and they would jump at you. Private taxi (proper limousine) starts at 2200 at this service that I used to Pattaya repeatedly: https://www.tomtaxiservice.com/

Bangkok to Hua Hin is not a world tour. Fly to Bangkok and take another transport. A bit costly of course if you choose private taxi or limo. If AirAsia were at least a bit of a quality airline they should offer you rebooking.

I added to my post, better see a specialist doctor.

My friend didn't give up until an optician told him that it is simply impossible to determine lenses for him. I can not swear that he told me the whole truth about the other eye. Best see an ophthalmologist (eye doctor).

And the link leads to a site headlined: RT-PCR / ATK Result (link would better have been pixelated)
-
? It's not feasible/does not make sense to do surgery on the other eye. That's what he told me.

A friend had one most expensive new "multifocal"(?) lens plus Laser in Pattaya for 150k! The full "no more glasses" treatment. That's about the most expensive ever heard/read about. Another German guy from Udon Thani had one standard lens done at Khon Kaen RAM for 50k. Both seem very satisfied with the results. Don't hesitate. My friend's other eye is lost for the surgery. He waited much too long. Read in the forum that other/public hospitals can be much cheaper than 50k.

It's long that I looked at sea cables. The development is tremendous. But Thailand is surely much depending on connection to Singapore/Malaysia. Only four landing points in Thailand. Compare with Singapore. -

A lot has developed compared to my late 90s visits with the 56kBit modem wired to the analog phone line. Happy if I could listen to a low quality radio stream -
Thailand a tax haven?
KhunBENQ replied to makescents's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
German pension: no tax. Never heard anyone paying. It's an endless fight of words between experts in German language forums since years. I just keep silent and don't wake up sleeping dogs. I have a Thai tax number from a tax on interest refund many many years ago (when interest still existed). Also never heard anything from them again.
