  1. What makes me a bit sceptic is the wording of a 2nd test as ATK "self"test. Will they really trust in responsible behavior of foreigners?
  2. Will be hot news soon (or is it already?). Wait with application for Thailand pass until full details known. Found at Twitter of Richard Barrow.
  3. Don't tell secrets!! I avoided to name any place. LK Metro: after New Year when I was there some gogo places had an open door without the usual pole/music stuff. Now it seems the doors are closed and the gogos open So many bars and other places open but some desperately waiting for customers. Even on Soi 7 there are a few big bar areas open and girls sitting and waiting. Completely lacking customers. Pattaya and particularly Treetown/Soi Buakhao/LK are under daily "surveillance" of video bloggers. Sometime they will bump into each other.
  4. Can't comment on this specific route but I flew Khon Kaen - Phuket in December. Technically everything OK. As air travel is fairly still quiet (airports, airspace) you wouldn't expect anything bad. Never experienced weighing of carry-on for domestic flights in Thailand (so same here). And their pricing policy with "starting price" and adding, adding... leads people to carry bulky heavy stuff on board to save the 300 to 400 Baht surplus for checked baggage. All I hate is there extreme low cost carrier attitude with the pricing policy. Making them look cheap at first sight. Pay for reservation of ordinary seat, paying high for some "better" seat. Paying for payment is the final extra. All airlines are hit by Covid restrictions of no onboard service. Doesn't matter for AirAsia. Not even a bottle of water is free/included under normal conditions. If ThaiSmile serves the route I prefer them.
  5. Should have read: If it was NOT a hack then think yourself how they could have gained the addresses. The Twitter that I linked is a reminder from yesterday (Feb 22). So obviously it is still going on.
  6. Beeping his horn!!! How dare you!!! Lucky he is a cop. Sounds like this is not a usual traffic accident.
  7. Yes, it's concrete and looks quite "polished". Sure a surface that needs caution when wet. On the other hand: it's a very busy highway #4 and how many flew off the road yesterday?
  8. SCAM, data phishing! resulting from a hack of the Thailand Pass website collecting email addresses. If it was a hack then think yourself how they could have gained the addresses. It's at least a week ago that this surfaced. They still try.
  9. It sounds like but you didn't state clearly that you are un-vaccinated. Although checks have become sporadic/inconsistent you have a chance to get problems. It's a gamble. Official escape is a documented ATK test (cheaper and fast compared to PCR).
  10. Complicated? ThaiSmile 20kg included. Excess baggage BKK to CNX is 60 Baht/kg. Carry on never weighed. Better booking class includes 30 kg but much more than paying 600 Baht for 10 kg excess.
  11. One on Soi Diamond. Haven't been there on my own this year. But a friend reported in detail about a week ago. Not suitable for the forum.
  12. https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze.html?d=login.anz.com But my Firefox on W10 open the login page without warning. Just tried this link: https://login.anz.com/internetbanking
  13. Just for you, an extra shift on Saturday about Ferrari Joe. https://aseannow.com/topic/1250992-central-corruption-court-sits-on-a-saturday-just-for-ferrari-joe-and-his-cohorts/
  14. Western part of Khon Kaen. Heavy downpour, clogged drain, flooded shack. Totally overcast and very low day temperatures now and the forecast for max temperature is about 22 C at best. 22 C! (72 F). About the coldest day I can remember. Low temperature was not that extreme, about 16 or so. Thai Meteorological is a total dump. N/A no data, 0.0, ....
  15. For the moment I also have no better idea. Indeed not possible to do differential backup or the like. You could of course keep a copy of the container on a backup media and then open/mount both containers and do some differential update. Close when done. I could easily do manually using a compare tool like FreeFileSync. Whether this could be automated like a scheduled backup? Don't know. At least it requires manual entry of the password(s).
  16. One of the easy questions: basically you can move/copy the encrypted container to every device where Veracrypt or Veracrypt portable can be installed/run. Nothing is bound/left to the device where you created/used the container. The portable version can be run without actually permanently installing. So put it on a USB stick together with the container e.g. BUT to install Veracrypt or run the portable version you need admin access to the device as like other SW installations need. That's usually not a problem on Windows devices. It might be a problem on some arbitrary 3rd party device. Like trying to install something on another persons device, in an "internet cafe" or the like. You can even copy the container to an Android smartphone. There is a simplified app named EDS Lite which can open/read the contents. That's what I do with a "password/data safe". Just the most critical stuff of 30 MBytes. Looks like there are similar apps for Apple iOs. But that's uncharted territory for me.
  17. There is another thread where a poster asks whether there is any checking of vaccination or Covid test. Did you experience anything?
  18. An example. The actual text is translated. But the embedded text in the image is not. That would require the camera approach with OCR. This is how a typical text is translated. Quite useful and a single click.
  19. About this specifically: are you reading on PC (Windows?). Chrome browser can be enabled to translate the complete website. Works if the content is actually text and not embedded in images of course. For the latter case: see above. Google translate on the smartphone.
  20. No. Flying TO Bangkok requires nothing, not even vaccination certificate. A very popular topic. Just recently:
  21. That's why the full details are necessary. From/to and transit if any (as mentioned in the quoted text). Etihad means transit through Abu Dhabi and this might be the reason for the requirement. Non stop flights have an extra charm at these times. A mate just returned to Germany via Istanbul (Turkish Airlines) and no mention of another PCR test.
  22. And there is jungle! Great to drive. "Korat" seems to be too difficult for some. "Korat" = Nakhon Ratchasima. Without context it could be the city or the province. Enough jungle on the edge of the >Korat plateau< (Isan).
  23. Joe Ferrari? The cop who killed a suspected drug smuggler/dealer? What has he to do with Pattaya? I didn't find news that he was released from prison while waiting for trial? Maybe overlooked. The mansion? Can't remember what that was. Just too many severe crimes/raids/murders over the year. You have some keywords?
