  1. In a safe. I don't want to use a bank safe box here. Yes the safe doesn't weigh a ton, it won't withstand heavy machinery tools but in a neigborhood like ours no professional robbers will break in unnoticed. Only few members of the family know about it. Has not been transported by outsiders. In a room with sturdy window grilles and a robust door with cylinder lock and proper fittings. So no opportunity for petty criminals. Number wheel combination known to me and the daughter.
  2. And I am confident it will be a complete failure as long as the restrictions remain. I am here currently and it is still a very limited experience.
  3. Got this nasty thing two years ago. Was obviously not protected. Weak/sick for two weeks. Later developed psoriasis which never vanishes completely. Whether it is connected? I don't know.
  4. At least quite pointless. Yesterday walked along the current party hotspot in Pattaya (treetown) and even though I am not Covid hysteric the cramped masses irgnoring all the loudly announced rules (mask, distance etc.) left me somewhat puzzled.
  5. Still enough to let people wait for the bag for more than 30 minutes after desimbark on a domestic flight yesterday
  6. For those overwhelmed by the term "winter" please replace by cool/dry season.
  7. Astronomically. Meteoroligist have differing definitons. Winter starts on December 1. But the thread is quite clear and in line with weather predictions from other sources (ECMWF). Nov 3 the rain should have stopped for most of the country. https://meteologix.com/th/forecast/1614295-pattaya/xltrend/euro/precipitation Currently waiting for the rain to stop in Pattaya
  8. Just talked to a resident friend. She is usually quite well informed and says it IS a general rule (?).
  9. I doublechecked their communication and there is nothing.
  10. Maybe I have lost sight in the color maps so excuse a dumb question. Yesterday checked in at a hotel in Pattaya (no ASQ/ASH). I had to show my vaccionation status which surprised me somewhat. Hotel tells me only vaccinated guests. No word beforehand at booking confirmation. Is this a general rule in the dark red zone for domestic travellers? At the flight checkin Khon Kaen TO Bangkok no checks at all (as shown in a diagram from the airline).
  11. Very likely they will open the primary school in our village. And it's about time. Today still busy working with paintjob etc. Long ago they built an open air mensa under a roof. Also the secondary school of the subdistrict was lively yesterday. Maybe some preparation/instruction?
  12. A lot of questions would be answered by reading the linked article. Always recommended. read on from there...
  13. 15 yr until 18 yr old up to 110 ccm legally with license. Honda Wave 110 and others. A quite useless distinction as a 110 ccm almost does 100 km/h without pillion rider.
  14. Have you been successful with online registration in the past? How did you do the last report?
  15. There are always exceptions which would result in an "old" sign on a new car. For Bangkok you can roughly guess the higher the leading digit (unique in Thailand) the later the sign has been issued. I think they have reached "9" now? Will be interesting what their next botch workaround will be instead of a basic reform. I doubt there are many countries with such a confusion of plate types and exhausted number ranges etc.
  16. Not too many I bet. Have to go to some African or Caribbean countries.
  17. And the member wants to swim and not mix it with his whisky Sure the quality at Pattaya beach was not that inviting in the past. Jomtien gradually better. I did a dip there in March and even years before. At this time the quality seems to have improved significantly. I will check next week. Ko La(r)n always been OK.
  18. My first name ends with an "s", last name with an "r". Bad luck for me Somewhat amusing when an official reads it from my pink card. I would never try to fiddle with the spelling (originating from marriage in 1999).
  19. Guess the OP wants to edit and save the file in PDF format and not work on a screenshot/picture. Or how do you open a PDF with paint/paintbrush or the like?
  20. I use this and it does the jobs for me: https://tools.pdf24.org/en/creator
  21. From my place to Pattaya: Get up as usual, enjoy breakfast, remaining stuff to the bags. Drive 1:15 to the airport (daughter drives car back). Checkin 5 min, sit and relax, wait for boarding. 12:20h take off, 13:25 (likely earlier) touchdown Latest 14:00 taxi to Pattaya, 15:30 at hotel Fuel 400, flight 1000 all incl, taxi 1000 = 2400 Yes expensive. But compared to my one and latest bus from district town many years ago. Departure 7:00(?), early up and hurry to drive to district town. Bus AC bloody cold (on a cool rainy day), no padded jacket with me (grabbing all available blankets). A felt 1000 stops, cheap detours avoiding toll road, 11 hours! Dropped off at Sukhumvit. Making last mistake: shared songtaeo ("Baht bus"). Drives all the way to the farthest corner of Jomtien then back to Pattaya city. Almost another hour to the hotel. Never again! By car: at least 7 hours. Always a risk of hitting some neat potholes and damage the car (road to airport is pretty good). Sharing the road with brain-dead/reckless/drugged/careless riders. Doable, but for what? No need to fill the trunk with purchases taking home.
  22. Yes there will be more among Thai population. But as other countries they should focus on watching deaths/severe cases/hospitalization. The number of (detected) cases is just too inaccurate/vague.
  23. "A car in front of me had immediately stopped before the highway police checkpoint." That was a driver seeking an escape route Once happened in front of me when a pickup suddenly did a sharp left to some dirt road.
