  1. Charger with metal housing. Rotten wire getting connected to housing?. Very likely no earth/ground connection at plug/socket and extremely likely no ELCB which would have saved him from the worst. Not much to do with water on the ground. Many older houses have two wire electric only.
  2. Immigration calendar shows August 1st and 2nd as holidays. both important bhuddist holidays with alcohol ban. It does not show anything about Monday July 31st. Bank of Thailand shows August 1st as holiday and not 2nd. And what is a long weekend worth with two dry days ????
  3. So I can assume that this thread from 2020 is still valid/up-to-date? (I was a bit alarmed when coming across this "must read")
  4. Is this three (3) year old thread still a "must read" and up-to-date?
  5. Fortunately it was in the "early hours". The site is on front of Central Marina mall. Maybe unrelated but: the sign is exactly at one of the pedestrian crosswalks with lights. Relying on one of these is pure madness. (click for larger image)
  6. No Sir. Temporary issued 7 July 2015, expire 7 July 2017 5yr applied on 20 June 2017, expired 12 March 2023. (latest until 2028) Be it one month, be it three months (not sure) but definitely you can go before expiry with the temporary. I had a car license from the beginning (2011). Did the motorcycle license from scratch (incl. "driving test").

    ROTA virus

At least three articles in the Bangkok Post which does not allow to be linked here. MCOT, Pattaya Mail, youtube, The Phuket News... Probably water contamination.

Are you joking. Multiple mentions of the shi..ers in Phuket in forum threads. Just two: https://aseannow.com/topic/1297363-diarrhoea-outbreak-spreads-across-phuket/ https://aseannow.com/topic/1297511-phuket-emergency-centre-opens-as-mystery-illness-strikes-100-people/ Threads link to thaiger and thainewsroom.
  9. Exactly. On some main roads there are specialized workshops every 500 m. No advantage to visit a Toyota dealer (that's what they are). Just did the math: 2566 - 2547 = 19. So our first car, a Vios is a whopping 19 years old. Runs smooth and strong, no rust no nothing. AC is better than my 2011 Mazda.
  10. They are on Facebook (Medisafe Pharmacy). Order on Facebook chat. Payment to their bank account before shipment.
  11. You already tried pharmacies in Mukdahan (city)?
  12. My BPH medication is 30 to 40% cheaper online (Medisafe) than at our local pharmacy.
  13. Bizarre and absurd like the useless anti alcohol crusade in total.
  14. Thread is from April 20 which is not now for me and far more than 20 days ago. No idea why previous poster meant to revive it
  15. It's a sport called football. Some call it soccer (and call some strange carrying an egg shaped ball "football"). UEFA Champions League final Manchester City vs Inter Mailand. 2 AM local time Thailand the coming night. I am afraid this would have to happen behind closed blinds?
  16. You referred to EU not specifically to Spain. Portugal is popular as a retirement location for a reason. A long term visa for Spain is available but has much higher financial requirements. Seems even higher than here.
  17. Congrats to you OZ folks! Swiss: travel to Bangkok to sit at the bio-metric monster machine (from Siemens) taking picture, fingerprints, signature. Pay some 5xxx Baht. No self-taken pictures at all. As a convenience the new passport is sent home by EMS. Germany: travel to Bangkok, similar procedure like above. No self-taken pictures at all. And as an extra goodie you can travel again to pick up the new passport. Alternatively you can write a power of attorney for someone else to pickup or use some costly service. German consulate has about the worst service compared to what I read here.
  18. With a retirement visa. That simple. https://www.lexidy.com/blog/portugals-retirement-visa-program/ And can you believe that the financial requirement is 760 Euro/month!!! That's less than 30000 Baht! Compare this to the ridiculous requirements here (minimum income corresponds to top government/military ranks).
  19. No myth just rules that are not easy to find for us. What I would have expected. As written I am quite sure it's three months.
  20. I know because I did this year. My question(!) was whether you had done it and shown QR at the DLT?
  21. Thaifriendly is not too extensive for CM. It's about a 3 to 20 ratio compared to Pattaya.
  22. And there is nothing in between Gogo and knitting in Chiang Mai? No beer bars and things?
