Thai mother alleges assault on Dubai-Bangkok flight

A Thai mother has alleged that a Pakistani passenger sexually assaulted her as she slept beside her four-year-old daughter on a six-hour flight from Dubai to Bangkok.

Beaut Pimpaporn, 33, said the alleged incident occurred on flight FZ-1583, after she boarded a connecting flight in Dubai following a trip to Milan, Italy. The aircraft landed at Don Mueang International Airport.

Claim made after Bangkok landing

Ms Pimpaporn said she had fallen asleep with her daughter on her lap and woke to find the passenger beside her allegedly performing a sex act and touching her buttock.

She said she had taken sleeping medication before boarding to help adjust her body clock, and was sleeping beneath a blanket. In a Facebook account posted under the name Beaut Aornnicha, she said she also noticed wetness on her clothes and initially questioned whether she had imagined what had happened.

The woman alleged that the man, identified as 30-year-old Raza Ali, then pretended to adjust the entertainment screen in front of her seat while repeatedly looking at her.

Rather than cause alarm during the flight, Ms Pimpaporn said she waited until the plane arrived in Bangkok before telling cabin crew. She said a Thai staff member later noticed what she described as semen stains on her trousers.

Passenger denied entry, police say

Ms Pimpaporn said cabin crew questioned Mr Ali, initially in Arabic, and that he first denied the allegation before admitting his conduct. She said he cried, knelt and asked for forgiveness, while several people believed to be travelling with him as part of a Pakistani tour group also asked her to let him go.

She said crew refused to treat the matter as a private dispute and separated her daughter from the scene. Her child was taken to the captain so she would not witness events, Ms Pimpaporn said.

Tourist police and immigration officers removed Mr Ali from the aircraft and took him to a police station. Ms Pimpaporn made a police report and said she intended to press charges and seek compensation.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Chamnanyut Konkong, of Don Mueang district police station, said the suspect had been denied entry to Thailand. He said the complainant was interviewed and that officers would first seek mediation between the parties, which he described as normal procedure.

Ms Pimpaporn said she waived anonymity to encourage women, particularly those travelling alone, not to feel embarrassed about reporting suspected assault. "Passengers are often sleeping during long flights, and women travelling alone can be vulnerable," she said.

Your pathetic attempts to defend him have seen your posts emphasise it being the woman's fault

Come on, she's wearing super tight trousers, pops some drugs, drools, writhes around, she didn't contribute to the situation? She was probably overly friendly with him, passed him a napkin and such, so he misinterpreted this. Easy mistake to make.

All her fault then? Ridiculous!

I never said that. I said she contributed substantially to the situation. Obviously the man lost his self control and is partly to blame, however, the woman surely precipitated this situation with her tight clothing, taking drugs, and acting like a drooling sex kitten. She was contributorily negligent.

Since you have delved into wild theory could I ask what your reaction would be if a gay man had done the same to you on a plane?

Well, first of all I would not be surprised, as I am aware that I am an unusually handsome and attractive man, and this kind of gay advance has happened a few times already, so I would be mentally prepared for it. I would politely ask him to clean up, shake hands, accept his apology and we would all go our merry way. No way would I get him put in handcuffs, banned from Thailand and deported by police. That would just be vindictive. So I'm attractive, gay men get aroused and masturbate next to me. It's not the end of the world.

this is why they separate the males from the females on trains in India

I once asked three female colleagues - one Pakistani, one Indian and another Sri Lankan - if they had ever experienced sexual harrassment, unwanted touching or conversations, etc., with male colleagues in their career. All three said yes. Very common.

Well, it was probably dark on the plane, the lines between private and public are very blurred on a plane. One tries to cocoon one's self in an imaginary privacy to escape the reality of being perched in a public place like sardines. Yes, granted, it was unusual to partake in this act on a plane, but he probably thought it was semi-private, that nobody would see it.

You are mentally ill. Its that simple. Have you done this?

Up to 65% of girls experience it here in schools by the time they're 17. Every Thai woman I've talked with has said they have. Many back home also.

A man who masturbates in public next to a woman faces criminal charges for public indecency, obscenity, and sexual harassment.

Indeed, so we really need to ask ourselves, has the law gone too far here? Should we not change such ridiculous laws? Are the prisons not filled with real criminals, are the courts not busy dealing with real crimes, why burden them with this nonense, incidents where a man merely engaged in masturbation? So the question is should we make public masturbation legal, provided the man cleans up of course? I think the answer is clear. We need to use our common sense.

Well, you know how some Thai women are, exceptional people pleasers. Obviously she must have been rather nice to him, and he totally misinterpreted her behaviour.

This explains a little

The phrase "asking for it" implies that a person's clothing choices invite or consent to unwanted advances, harassment, or assault. Legally, ethically, and socially, clothing never equals consent. A person's choice of outfit is a form of self-expression, comfort, or style, and it does not give anyone the right to cross physical or personal boundaries.

Why People Dress "Provocatively"

  • Self-expression: Wearing bold, fitted, or revealing clothes helps people feel confident, creative, and good about their bodies.

  • Comfort and trends: Modern fashion trends and weather often dictate clothing styles that happen to show more skin.

  • Social engagement: Some individuals enjoy the general attention or validation of looking attractive, but wanting to look nice does not mean inviting unwanted touch or mistreatment.

The Reality of Consent and Boundaries

  • Consent is clear and verbal: Consent to any physical or sexual interaction must be active, conscious, and freely given. It is never implied by what someone wears.

  • Behavior is a choice: Harassment and assault are choices made by the perpetrator, not the result of a victim's outfit.

That's a total straw man argument, nobody's said that she consented. The point is that if a woman wears very tight and sexually provocative clothing, she is going to ignite the sexual urge in some men. Women know this, and this is why they dress like this. It's not a question of consent, it's a question of whether she was contributorily negligent. Which she clearly was.

What can you say about people who come from a country like Pakistan, where sodomy of young boys is common, and sex with goats and other animals is no big deal.

The type of women you spend time with fit this definition. Pro's, working women you pay for sex. Its all you know or have been with in Thailand. Hence your horrible defense of this pervert. I guess it takes one to know one.

I am not. The girlfriend is still asleep in bed, and there's no provocatively dressed female lying uncounscious next to me, drooling and writhing. So it's easy to control that urge. Sadly, the man in this article was in a much more challenging situation.

So do you, you don't see me acting all judgemental. And I'm sure you too felt the urge to masturbate when you saw an attractive woman. A few times. We've all been there. But now you all pile up on this poor guy, who already had the book thrown at him, and act holier than thou. You're not fooling anybody.

Read what I posted earlier, along with all the AI. There are laws he broke, which had nothing to do with her nor what she wore. What a woman wears gives no man a right to do what he did. he's a sexual deviant and got, so far, what he deserved. You said it's her partly to blame. It's none of hers to blame, and all on him. Millions of women wear tight clothes. Only weirdos act inappropriately around them. Have you seen what others here have been saying? Easy to research this behavior without using AI.

There's a difference between masturbating next to a woman, especially not conscious, and doing it in private from memory. he could have been decent and went to the bathroom. He's not a "poor" guy. He's a sexual deviant by definition.

It's always best to go by facts and not opinions or adding to the story things that weren't listed. It didn't say she was drooling or writhing, even though that's still not a defense.

Yes, technically he broke a law, however, if we engage our common sense, we can easily see that her ultra-tight pants, popping drugs and moaning and writhing around half-conscious no doubt had something to do with the situation.

And masturbation is hardly "sexually deviant".

Sure, he acted inappropriately, but her wearing skin-tight trousers, popping drugs and acting like a sex kitten is perfectly appropriate? She contributed to the situation for sure, then denounced him.

But you know what it's like in a plane! You have to undo the seatbelt, ask people for permission, wade through all that stuff on the floor, contend with food trolleys and flight servants. By the time he would have made it to the bathroom he would have lost the urge! And at the latest when he arrived, have you no recollection how those airplane toilets smell? Not conducive to erotic stimulation is it? He tried to do it clandestinely.

He flew too close to the sun and got burned.

She wasn't popping drugs but took a sleeping pill to relax. She wasn't moaning and writing, as that's not in the story. Those are things your mind had you add, trying to take the guilt from the man. She was on a flight with a child. Innocent. Masturbation in public IS sexual deviance, and this can easily be researched besides that AI.

Again, it's what separates a man from a sexual deviant without any restraint. Sex is for two willing people, no matter were it is. In the airplane bathroom isn't the problem, as no one can see. I fly yearly, and the toilets don't smell that bad unless someone just left them. Plain and simple, he's a pervert who needs to be again, jailed, fined, deported and registered, to protect others from his sickness.

I have an immediate dislike for this Pakistani group. This group feels their religion is superior and above the law. They do not respect the rights of the Thai.

Agree 100%. They view women as objects, not people.

I recall a case many years ago, in Sydney I think, where a couple of Pakistani lads, fresh off the boat, raped a couple of Aussie girls. They said the girls were sluts by the way they were dressed, as though that is any excuse. They got a hefty jail term, 27 years I think.

My opinion is that they were acting as their culture allows or indeed condones.

He didn't have sex with her, it was not a sex with an unwilling partner type of issue. The issue here was that she wore highly provocative ultra-tight pants, and popped drugs that had her writhing and moaning around. So the man next to her could not help himself.

To turn on him then, have him jailed, registered as a sex offender and deviant is completely over the top. What he did was fairly innocent auto-erotic stimulation, caused by being in the vicinity of a very attractive, negligently so, woman.

And the toilets on planes smell awful. Plus there's that sharp lighting. You can't really get your sex on there. Those days are gone.

Take all your assumptions you've made about this story away, and what you have is a sexual deviant that was caught doing something illegal. What he did was break the laws on public decency, along with objectifying a woman, which is immoral and wrong also. When a man can't help himself, has no restraint, he doesn't belong in a public setting. Nothing to do with innocent behavior. Wearing tight clothes doesn't make a woman negligent but having good self esteem.

Absolutely. I can't wait to ask her when she wakes up what she would have done in that situation.

I can tell you with 100% certainty she will say she would never have reported that. Because it's not worthy of reporting. As she's a normal girl.

You have to be a feminist witch to ruin a man's life because of something like this. I'm starting to understand why she travelled alone without a father.
