Man bleeds to death after hitting glass door

A young man who was found dead inside his house on Saturday morning apparently bled to death after cutting a vein when he punched a glass door following a dispute with a friend.

The body of Akekarin Watanaporn, 31, was found in a sitting position inside the toilet room on the ground floor of the four-storey Ensuring Co home-office on a soi off Happy Land 1 Road in Bangkok’s Bang Kapi district.

The man’s sister, Praphansorn Watanaporn, 34, was alerted by neighbours that the house’s glass front door was broken and stained with blood. She followed a blood trail inside the house to find her brother’s body.

Akekarin’s friend told police that they went to a pub for a drink on Friday night, and returned together to the house at about 3am.

The two had a dispute and Akekarin hit the glass door in anger. The friend then left, not realising that Akekarin had suffered a deep cut.

Sad. You would think that by 31 a person would have learned that if you cut your arm and blood starts gushing out of it, you should do something about it. Tourniquet, pressure, hold the arm above your head and, of course, call an ambulance/visit the hospital.

I think a learnt that at school.

The compassion expressed by the commentary of members is underwhelming and sad. Over and over it is the same.

Perhaps it is best to just read the news and ignore, the mostly, embittered, opinionated and bigoted members.

You call us bigoted ok, just 1 point though nobody asked the silly bugger to smash his arm through the glass, then sit there and do nothing, stupid is as stupid does.

There's always the possibility that the friend is a lying murderer.  Which is beside the point when posters are reveling in the death of a fellow human being and making light of the grief of those who loved him.  You'd feel a little different if it were your kid being stupid, as we all do occasionally.

I am not reveling  (as you put it) in the mans death, just pointing out the stupidity of the mans actions.

Good quality laminated glass ?

That's what I was thinking, I don't know if there were kids in the house but if so then tempered safety glass should be a priority, a legal requirement in most countries. I realise that many Thai families are poor but some things are even more important than the amber nectar

Perhaps you did not notice that this was self inflicted

The answer to these kind of events is reasonably obvious, well to me anyway

As far as being perfect thankfully most of us can get just a little closer than he did

Glass is always unforgiving, I learnt that during my five minutes as a stained glass craftsman, never came anywhere near to being a stained glass artist

It is ironic that by making such comments, you are of course one of them.

But I didn't ignore your post until it was too late.

What on earth has that got to do with anything ?

Don't criticise because you are a guest, if Thailand took on some of the criticism that was directed its way it could improve so much.

But you seem happy for it to be forever a 3rd world country.

I see nothing in comments that warrant being called a bigot...seems like most folks are expressing opinions based on the behavior of the idiot who didn't seek help...and not the color of his skin...people who call people bigots are usually bigots themselves...
