Hello,

1. I would like to know if I can get a mutliple entries Thai Visa Non-Immigrant O for having a Thai kid in Savannakhet :

- I am not married

- I am the legal father of the kid (certificate birth + legalization done in the amphoe)

2. If so, do I have to show any proof of income or bank statements ?

3. On the form, is the information to be written on the field "Number of entries requested" : "multiple entries" ?

(my question looks stupid, but I prefer to be sure)

4. Do the pics have to have a blue background ?

Thank you very much !

The will not do a multiple entry non-o visa based upon being the parent of a Thai. They will only issue a single entry visa.

Penang will do one but you would need 400k baht in the bank or proof of income.

In Penang you need, in your case, 400,000 BHT in the bank A N D a letter from your embassy that you are retired. I was there with 800,000 in the bank and I was denied my non-o visa at the Thai Embassy because I didn't have such letter. Go to a visa agent in Penang and they can help you.

He would be applying for the visa based upon being the parent of a Thai not for retirement. No such letter would be needed.

When i got my recent Non O visa in Penang they did ask for proof i was retired and i just showed copy's from my passport of my last two extensions based on retirement which they accepted. I also showed 800,000 in my Thai bank book which i only had in there for 1 week and i think i paid 300 Malaysian ringgit about 2200 baht

You cannot get multiple entry, but you can get single entry 3 months, and you can extend 2 months at chang wattana, and you can keep repeating this proces.

You don't need to show proof of income or bank account.

Passport picture doesn't need to be blue background.

Maybe I can file in a question in this thread too. Not trying to steal it in any way. As Gittu above state, I know that I can extend a Non-O Single Entry based on having a child for another 60 days.
My question is if it´s possible after doing that, to visit immigration once more and extend it to 1 year? Or do I need to get a new Non-O Single Entry to make a 1 year extension after it already has been extended 60 days?

Ok so this 60 day extender on the non O parent. Can this only be processed in 1 location or can all major immigration centres process them? Khon kaen for example

A 60 day extension is to be made at your local Immigration Office that is responsible for the area you reside in. Yes, Immigration in Khon Kaen can do this, and if you belong to Khon Kaen that´s where you should do it.

After getting the 60 day extension you can apply for the one year extension for stay.

But that will be the only 60 day extension you will be able to do unless you leave and re-enter the country with a new visa entry after getting the one year extension.

So if I at the same time as applying for a 1 year extension, or after that, also pay for a multiple entry for that year. Then I can just go out and in, and are eligeble for another 60-day extension in every 90-day period I do that?

If you get a one year extension of stay and a multiple re-entry permit you will get stamped into the country to the date your extension ends not 90 days.

You do not have to leave the country every 90 days it you get an extension. You just need to do 90 day reports of staying longer than 90 days in the country.

Yes, thanks! I know that, but I might want to travel every 90 days instead of doing my reports to Immigration Office.
However, the question was if I do that, am I then eligible for another extension of 60 days at the end of my 1 year extension?

As long as you have a re-entry permit you can travel whenever you like.

When you re-enter the Country your next report would be due 89 days after the date of arrival.

You only need to make 90 day reports if you are staying consecutively in the Country for over 90 days.

Extensions of stay, based on marriage, retirement, or being the dependant of a Thai child cannot be extended beyond the 1 year period.

You can apply for a new extension 30 days before the previous permission to stay expires.

The 60 day extension of permission to stay only applies to those married to a Thai or the legalised parent of a Thai child. holding a Non Imm O Visa (single or multi entry)

That Visa only allows 90 day stays in Thailand. You have to cross a border and re-enter to get another 90 days.

You can extend each 90 day permission to stay, one time by 60 days.

Not sure why you would want to avoid the 90 day reports. You can do them by mail, online or in person.

You can only get one 60 day extension per entry which means if you get one for the 90 day entry you have now you would not be able to do another one. Entries from a re-entry permit are not new entries since they are based upon the extended permit to stay you got from your visa entry.
