Why Chiropractic?

Today, many people are looking for non-medical, more natural solutions to their health concerns.

That is why you see so many “alternative” health care approaches springing up.

While some of these approaches may have some value, most of their practitioners are not licensed doctors nor do their approaches pass scientific scrutiny.

These reasons, amongst others, distinguish the licensed profession of chiropractic from most of the other “alternative” forms of care.

Doctors of chiropractic are licensed health professionals.  To become a chiropractor, one has to study a minimum of 6 years, taking as many hours in the basic human sciences as in medical school.

Then a series of stringent professional and government examinations must be passed in order to be licensed.  Here in Thailand only 28 doctors of chiropractic are licensed to practice.  Our clinics have 2 of them!

Chiropractic is very widespread in the u.S.A., and around the world.  Millions of people receive chiropractic treatments daily. Professional and Olympic sports teams also use chiropractic to heal injuries and improve overall performance naturally.

Even Usain Bolt uses chiropractic to help him set records.

And after 10 years of extensive research by the army surgeons general, chiropractic is now available for the U.S. Armed services, having been found safe, effective, and economical.

Chiropractic was added even though they already had orthopedists and physical therapists.  That shows how impressive the research results were! Also, the malpractice rates for chiropractic are way lower than medical for the same amount of coverage.  That means we are much safer, for all ages…babies, pregnancies, athletes, the aged, and all who want better health and a better life…naturally!

Doctors of chiropractic are well educated and well trained to analyse your health to determine if there may be interference within your nervous system which may be leading to illness or decreased performance.

They are trained to analyse x-rays and MRI results as well as review blood tests to determine if you are a good candidate to benefit from chiropractic care, or if you may need a referral for other care.

The actual care given by a chiropractor may vary from clinic to clinic because in addition to being scientifically based, chiropractic is also an art.  It is mainly done with the hands, though some therapeutic machines

may be used.

The art is why some people may respond to one type of chiropractic treatment better than another.  So while you may not have achieved desired results from one chiropractor, you may do better with another chiropractic approach.

I actually have a few friends I adoringly call chiro quacks. I remember the first time I went to one, he actually did a spinal x ray series. Then went on talking about how chiropractic does not mask pain with drugs, he then looked at my xrays ant told me, (at 29 or 30 years of age) that my spine was critically decomposing and I needed $350 in vitamins. Later I discovered the back pain was actually kidney stones.  Later I met an old guy with some type of cancer, he claimed it was being treated with chiropractic. He was found dead in his office. I guess he didn't buy the vitamins.

From what I saw in California many Chiropractors rent their licenses to massage establishments. A couple  friends lost their licenses when the places were busted for prostitution. I had one friend teach me how to make adjustments, so I could adjust her. She even wanted to teach me to do a cervical adjustment, I said no thanks, not interested in dooing an oopsie and killing someone.

Osteopathy as it is called in The UK works on some conditions related to bone and muscular disorders.

Osteopathy and chiropractic are two different forms of quackery.  Chiropractors mostly muck around with the spine and joints, whilst osteopaths also fiddle with the rest of the body.
