Language teacher and his friend arrested for gang rape

Two Cameroon men were arrested on Thursday for allegedly gang raping a Thai woman in a hotel room in Ubon Ratchathani’s Muang district last week.

 

The 25-year-old suspect identified only as Carauwas was apprehended at noon at a Kalasin school where he worked as an English-language teacher, said Muang Ubon Ratchathani police inspector Pol Lt-Colonel Bowornsak Khamrangsi, who led the operation.

 

The suspect’s compatriot, William Inkokumokoko, also 25, was arrested later.

 

The Ubon Ratchathani Court issued arrest warrants for the pair following a 24-year-old victim’s complaint to police on Friday. She said she had gone clubbing on Thursday night and then went to meet Carauwas, her boyfriend of four months, at a hotel room at about 4am on Friday.

 

Carauwas and his friend were in the room when she arrived. She said the two men raped her and she later was able to push them off the bed and ran out of the room before alerting police at about 5am.

 

The men had fled the hotel by the time police arrived. Police investigated the scene and applied for arrest warrants based on the hotel’s CCTV footage.

The Vietnamese quickly sorted out this trash. They came to Vietnam under the guise of playing football. Then they did what they do best and set up prostitution and drug rackets. After a while the Vietnamese twigged and rounded them all up put them on a bus and shunted them off to the nearest border. 

Problem for Thailand is that the RTP has too much to lose by doing the same.

Nice to hear that one can go clubbing in Ubon Ratchathani until 4 a.m., while in other parts of the country (Bangkok, Pattaya, etc.) lights go out at 1 a.m. or so...

I'm sure the CCTV in the Hotel lobby must of showed them legging it. 

Indeed, I am sure that is what it means,  but the report says they were arrested based on CCTV, not on 2 people leaving a hotel. 

 "investigated the scene and applied for arrest warrants based on the hotel’s CCTV footage".  Did the CCTV show any crime being commited, other than leaving a hotel in the early hours.

I am just commenting on the report wording. 

Did he have a degree or just a celta?  (teacher's joke.)

i've been told the CELTA is actually quite difficult and would show that you can actually teach english as a foreign language. a degree, well without additional teaching certificates its just a degree in whatever subject you choose

Surely the bigger question is, did he have a Work Permit to teach at the school? If not then another charge against him and the school for that matter.

Why has her story changed so dramatically. I am not defending the perpetrators, nor questioning something took place, but originally she said her boyfriend went out, she fell asleep, then later found the other man in the bed......allegedly......

 Maybe the initial reporting was wrong.

The latest one seems more realistic in terms of her account and the likely sequence of events.

They may benefit from the 13% conviction rate for rape charges in this country.

I would also check the validity of their academic records. Probably Fake!

I am absolutely puzzled as to how the African natives going to teach English, where I have never heard anyone spoken a beautiful English sentence in my life. Well, this is why the students taught by these "teachers" are as rotten as ever in their grasp of the English Language.

If you are an English native language speaker, i think it might be a good idea for you to learn from the Cameroonians.
