so not having them, just announcing a future date that may will be the next next year (again).

And for what? Trump doesn't care and the drear leader of Thailand is only inviting further ridicule when it doesn't happen anyway?

That is the face of a man who knows that the person he is talking too knows he is a liar and untrustworthy. Never in all of my years have I seen an American President look like he has just laid it on the line to a person who knows the bullS>>> simply will not work anymore.

He cannot even look Trump in the face can he.

Times up little man?

He does not even know the time or day let alone when (if) the election will take place  :bah:

You don't get it. The procrastination is to baffle & snub) the Americans, who want to get their claws back in after losing their puppets, Thaksin & Yingluck. They spent a lot of money on those two but as usual the Yanks always pick dishonest criminals to work for them. Civilians can be far greedier than simple soldiers. Also it's a signal to Trump and his masters that Thailand follows its own agenda not Washington's. Note purchase of Chinese weaponry lately - a clear snub to the US. The American Empire is fading. Everyone knows it except Washington. Nice piece by Chris Hedges and excellent cartoon:

Are you joking or just mixing up the names? Prayut knows Trump's time is over, regardless of   his continuous lies and broken promises to the American people. The stupid handshake gambit is childish. Prayut plays puppy (PM) to Trump's bull dog (POTUS), in the US. It's polite & Thais are very polite guests (unlike farang). Back home Prawit opens a back door on election timing, proving that Prayut is not a dictator whose word is final, but a leader who must listen to his advisers. Which's more than Trump does.

As for "looking in his face" you must be new. The Western habits of shaking hands - unhygienic, and staring into another's eyes - very aggressive in all Asian culture, are weird if you've lived here long. As for Trump, he will never shake off his gangster background. Prayut wins, doing a Putin "A very intelligent man" .  Dumb Americans...all ketchup and no hotdog.

For the love of Buddha, get shit together and hold an election. I'm sure everyone's pockets are full by now.  Prove to the world that a dictatorship certainly can precede a democracy.

Was JimP also in Thailand during the riots and unrest?

Thailand is fully ready for real election

Real election? . . . real joke, more like. How could there possibly be a REAL election, with one chamber already stuffed to the rafters with military/yellow/establishment appointees?

Whatever it takes....the army does a great job in keeping bangkok safe..i hope they'll stay here for another decade.

We don't need anymore "elected for 500 baht a vote" democracy in Thailand...if the majority is so stupid to sell their votes for the price of a decent meal they are better of with the army in control.

Well, that depends doesn't it. One is a choice the other, as you say, is control (controlled).

A likely contender for the new picture, above the breakfast table at Prayut's place, especially if it could include that Yingluck photoshop wizardry . . .  that was brilliant!

Whatever it takes ?  Peace at any price ?  The only thing unsafe in Thailand is freedom of speech, universal suffrage and Thai history.  The vast majority of Thai people were very well behaved given the circumstances.  Referring otherwise is rather insulting and condescending.  Also, observers have stated that vote buying no longer has an impact on elections.   VOA reported that Yingluck's election was clean.  This sort of loathing and fear mongering only stokes hatred.

Nonsense. you still don't get it, do you?
