Restaurant Health and Safety Inspector in Udon Thani?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Moved to the Udon Thani area a year ago.

Recently a new (major chain) fast food restaurant opened in "UD Town", 2 months ago

Was HAPPY (initially) to discover this, since it was one of my favorite places to grab a real flame-broiled hamburger, in America...  AND we had these in Bangkok... and NEVER had a PROBLEM there... so far.

BUT!!! I've eaten at this new restaurant THREE TIMES in the last three weeks, and EVERY TIME, afterwards, the next day, in fact, I have had an whopper of an attack of diarrhea.

So... my question... does anyone know of, and have the phone number, or contact, where I can request a government safety inspector team to have a look-see there?

Please no flaming (resist the urge, this ONCE, please) for pointing out I did this THREE times in a row (I know, probably sounds stupid), nor flaming me for expecting Western-Style health-standards, here in Thailand (been here 11 1/2 years, and I know the drill) but I AM new to living in the Udon area, and I'd appreciate a helping hand and references (if they exist) to requesting a health inspection;

I'm WAY too ill right now to cope with the usual round of insults and ridicule, even if this is ThaiVisa Forum. Just this one time.

Also please avoid mentioning the name of the restaurant, as you may have read between the lines, etc. since we have unique anti-defamation laws here in LOS.

Thank you!
