Issues with True Internet

Featured Replies

True internet was working great until about 6 weeks ago. Now it constantly goes online and offline in 2 minute intervals. A tech came and checked it on his computer. Everything worked on his one while mine was having issues. But then when I use AIS 4G internet (phone as a wifi hotspot for my computer) my internet is perfect. This means there is an issue but only for my computer.

I don't know how to test this any further and am ready to try another provider. I wish I could stick with AIS 4G but until they stop charging by the gigabyte I have to use something else.

TOT told me no, they want Thai permanent residents only (or something to that effect). That leaves 3BB and Cat Telecom (to my knowledge). Has anyone used either of these 2?

I've used both CAT and 3BB for many years. (I've also used Sophon Broadband and TOT adsl).  I had both of them (CAT & 3BB) at the same time a few years back. Now I wouldn't use any other than CAT. I used to be on their adsl, but for the last 3 years I've used their fiber optic service. When I first signed up for optic Internet they let me test out several packages over a month before I decided which one I wanted.

Here's what CAT is:

CAT Telecom Public Company Limited is the state-owned company that runs Thailand’s international telecommunications infrastructure, including its international gateways, satellite, and submarine cable networks connections.

In light of that, why would you use anyone else? The rest are all CAT resellers. It's the best you can get in Thailand.

You can't beat their customer service. For example, I've called them on Saturday night with a problem and they had techs at my door on Sunday morning. When you sign up with them you have a personal manager who is available by email and phone during office hours. If I email or call her she'll have a tech out to my place asap. Due to their prices being a bit higher they aren't as busy as the other ISP's, and you won't be sharing with as many other customers. Most services here except dedicated lines are shared, which is usually what causes speed fluctuation and other problems. I never get that.
