Certificate of residence for changing name on a car.. where to get in Pattaya?

Featured Replies

Can a Residence be a Hotel or does it have to be other?

You are asking two questions.

A residency certificate can be got at Immigration Jomtien. Valid for 1 month.

Your second question I don't know.

Whatever is in their system as your address when doing your 90 day report

If you are not doing 90 day reports and do stay at a hotel, then yes immigration will issue the certificate based on this, however the car would then be registered to the hotel address.

Far better to register it to a private address if you can.

Maybe watch out for a TM30  pull.  (private address)

Anyone know if they are doing this at Jomtien Immigration for residence certs ?

I got a residence certificate from their about 11 months ago and it was no issue, I had a TM30 prepared but it wasn't needed.

If in a hotel, then a TM30 is not required in any case, as they should be doing this.

Go try it tomorrow , it may not be the case,  11 months is a long time. or can you guarantee that ?

Maybe someone has more up to date info.

Also if you had a TM30 with you,  you were probably in violation of the TM30 reporting already.

I already know about hotels and Tm30 already thats old news.

Im just interested if they have linked the residents certs to TM30

reporting yet,  11 months ago the answer  was no in your case.

Absolutely.........not!

Hopefully others who have done more recently will update.

All I took was copies of the passport cover page, extension of stay, re-entry permit, latest entry stamp and TM.6, proof of address (a AIS Post Paid Bill addressed to me), 2 photos and the application form, went to the desk to get a queue number, then waited, took about 1 hour all up.

My extension of stay etc. were done at CW immigration in Bangkok, so not even connected to Jomtien, I went to there because my house is local to there and not Bangkok.

No TM30 required to get a residence certificate at Jomtien.

You will, however, require some evidence of address. They will accept a copy of the landlord's I.D. card or a copy of a rental agreement. For a hotel, they require a receipt or some other documentary evidence.

300 Baht, first counter on the left (10?).
