webfact Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 Zebra shark, Bull shark alleged to be on menu at Phuket restaurant ,Eakkapop Thongtub The photo of the Zebra shark posted on the Facebook page of ‘Sunshine Sketcher’. Photo: Sunshine Seeker / Facebook The issue came to light when Facebook user ‘Sunshine Sketcher’ posted two pictures along with the message: “The first picture, Death at Karon, Zebra shark was sliced and shown, taken by a foreign tourist on Nov 10,” on his Facebook page last Thursday (Nov 16). The message also ready: “The second picture shows a Bull shark on sale at the same restaurant but at a different time. Many tourists visit Thailand especially divers who dream to see Zebra sharks in the ocean. They cannot see a shark in the ocean, but found a breed of marine life threatened with extinction sold in a restaurant.” It continued, “Last year it was pushed by the DMCR that Zebra sharks be protected animals but some experts disagree. While many people conserve precious animals like sharks, rare animals can be found being sold in Phuket restaurants, this clearly shows the lack of care for marine conservation. Please do not support them by eating sharks. Live sharks are more precious than dead sharks.” Full story: https://www.thephuketnews.com/zebra-shark-bull-shark-alleged-to-be-on-menu-at-phuket-restaurant-64775.php -- © Copyright Phuket News 2017-11-20
marko kok prong Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 One presumes said resturant cater's to Chinese tourist's,who seem to enjoy eating there way through the list of endangered species,or using thier body parts as ornamentation{ivory],or in medicene[tigers ect].
DLang Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 Very tasty. They're lower down on the food chain. Well recommended, you won't be disappointed. :)
Reigntax Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 And one particular crocodile soon I assume also.
UnkleMoooose Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 With the Chinese arriving you can expect pretty much all of the wildlife to be on the menu. As Prince Philip noted, if it's not a submarine and it swims, and if it's not a table but has legs then the Chinese will eat it.
Deli Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 I hope that these guys will be swallowed by a loan shark soon

Thais are rather fond of these atrocities too...
DLang Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 Is the surprise because it's already dead, and they're not eating it while it's still alive?
