Video: Snake capture then massive python reveals what he had for lunch!

It is often said that Thais can eat anything but even the locals were in for a shock yesterday when they found what a python had swallowed.

Following a successful snake catching at a Samut Songkram house the foundation staff of Sawang Benjatham were amazed to see the python regurgitate its meal in the back of the pick-up - a 15 kilogram water monitor.

The 4.5 meter, 20 kilogram snake had been extricated from under some broken concrete at the home of Uraiwan Khonhasuk, 44. It was angry but the snake-catchers did a good job to get it in the back of their vehicle.

It was clear from a large bulge that it had recently been feeding but no one was sure what it was.

This was later revealed as the sensational video continued rolling while the snake was taken back to nature, reported Tnews.

Uraiwan said that she saw the snake when she was hanging out the washing. They have water monitors behind their house but she never believed a snake could eat one.

Holy smokes!  This is absolutely  epic.  Great video! Shows them how it's done.

well ,  the snake has to have lunch .....    he just better keep away from the natives   :shock1:

Of course, they could have recognised that the space beneath the concrete would make a des res for snakes and filled it in, but TiT.

They should count themselves lucky not to have attracted cobras or similarly aggressive snakes, especially with young children playing around there.

Bit off more than it could chew,or swallowed more than it could digest.

Why I don't see a video only a pic?

When I was teaching in South Sulawesi (Indonesia) I was told about a school pupil who had gone missing.   Villagers searched for him, but no luck, tho suspicious about a large python, digesting what they thought was a goat.

Sadly, the python had taken the student, as it was opened up to check the contents.

It was all photographed and appeared in a German magazine.

So yes, small children, dogs etc are all part of the diet.

Did you get out of bed the wrong side? Who exactly is "you lot"?

This is hardly Thai bashing, get over it.

I hope both delivered(Monitor Lizard had a double delivery) back to the wild. :shock1:

Generally snakes have to be put in a breathable cloth(or special) bag to avoid any injury to the reptile before it is being loaded into the pickup.

Hope they are watching National Geographic channel how to handle reptiles.

Looks like they did a great job of not hurting the snake.

I think that they have been safely handling reptiles long before you began worrying about them.

So what kind of fate awaits that captured python ?  Will it be delivered to Louis Vuitton or Lacoste factory in Thailand to be made into some hiso chic handbag ?

That's not a massive snake tbh.... They found one in the Phillipines  or Indonesia that was a couple of hundred kilos....

Fascinating video.  A real insight.  Saw a few pythons living in Thailand  and of course the odd cougar

There is a clue as to the fate of the snake in the above sentence.

impressive video. Well done you snake catchers. Let's hope the beautiful snake survives for a lot longer.

You should learn something about how snakes digest their food... definitely a good meal for a few months

If he had been left alone, it would eventually have digested it, constrictors frequently regurgitate their meals if caught as a defense mechanism, it is believed they think they can escape without the extra load in their bellies.........:post-4641-1156694572:

I am building a house in Thailand and they do keep empty space as well below the floor. Makes me worried.
