Does keeping pictures of Yingluk count as porn ? :omfg:

Actually .........what a load of hysterical twaddle. Take a walk any day  through klong thom market. More porn cds than you can shake something rhyming with a stick at.

Yeah! Give the guys at the helm the names they deserve and enhance your circle of friends in jail, while you wait for a positive response to your asylum application as a political refugee in NK. On the bright side: you won't share the cell with these pesky, greedy guys selling (child)porn CD's in the streets and markets.

Prostitution is illegal in Thailand too, but who gives a <deleted>?

Exactly and just about appropriate that nobody gives a <deleted> in real live ... bloody hypocrites!

Just another - now active - angle to screw over & up plenty of people in case needed ...

who and what defines PORNO GRAPHIC MATERIAL.....I class a naked female as ARTISTIC

Scary, scary, scary.

This country is truly accelerating its descent into becoming a full-blown authoritarian police state. I' actually wanted to use another adjective instead of "authoritarian." It starts with an f. But spelling it out probably would violate this insane act, too.

I also better hurry and shred my foreign cooking recipes that make illegal use of Thai jasmine rice, because these surely must pose a tremendous danger for national security.

You may be joking about shredding recipes, but earlier this week I was looking ar recipes on a US cooking site and got the TCSD notice page like it was porn. I had to use my VPN to view it

Not sure about anyone else but I have just placed all my electronic devices in a bucket of water

I'm sending my porn to the guys in the alley just off Sukkumvith Soi 4; the ones who sell out of a conex box full of Japanese and Indian porn that you can buy for 100 baht per movie. I think, since this material is not on a computer, yet, I might get away with it without worrying about how much more tea porn money will have to be paid to the BIB. Here is my closing thought on computer porn. You cant catch a disease from it. I guess having real sex with a bar girl/lady boy, in a hotel room is still OK?????????

haha I haven't got a catalogue of me and the missus rocking the casbah, but I was wondering what these fools making these laws would do about such an incident.

Maybe should look at High profile people see whats on there computers

does this also apply to the many pornographers who actually make the porn videos in thailand, using craigslist to recruit the "actresses"?

It would remove from your caches but not from your OS caches necessarily.

I was talking to a friend last night about this and he challenged me to find any traces of porn on his notebook. He thought he was safe because he downloads to his notebook and then transfers to an external drive. Without even going into his Windows folder, System Restore or his Acronis backups, simply right-clicking on his torrent client scared the life out of him. That took approx. 15 seconds!

The cropped screenshot below was given to me with his permission as it gives no personal details except perhaps what porn he is into...........

As with everything else in this world now-a-days, be careful what you upload as once it is there, it is there for the rest of your life (and longer!).

Personally, if you stick to the above advice, you have little reason to change your current habits.

Yes, it is of course possible to trace a download or stream to an IP address but unless you are on a static IP it is not as easy as you would think. And for the authorities to do that, they would need a better reason to trace you back other than just 'normal' porn.

Just be careful out there kiddies, post something that upsets them and they will upset you..................

Sounds like very similar laws in majority of EU nations, which are ridiculous and doesn't really work so well in practice.

My computer holds information from Prayuth promising elections by at least 5 previous dates.  Would someone please charge him for distributing false information, totally wrecking any chance the country had of any reasonable reputation and his contribution for lowering the medium intelligence level of the human race. That is, if he qualifies.

This countries so-called officialdom is a complete and utter farce, If they were paid for incompetence they'd all be multimillionaires.  A place known around the world for debauchery, sin and sex encounters galore have the audacity to enforce a mans basic rights to keep snorky under control and in Tip-Top condition to keep your motors running smoothly, now coming to an abrupt halt under the guide of the morality Police ................. :post-4641-1156694572:

Sounds to me that they are referring to pictures of a VVVIP person who many from govt. claimed photos were doctored.  Good idea to delete any of those if you have them.

decisions, decisions, decisions?

Have any of you ever worked or lived in China?  If you had you would be careful of posting daily rants  about Thailand. You think you can hide behind a alias name - you cannot. You think you can deny the posts were yours —you cannot.

Thailand is much better than China (or North Korea) as China has no Facebook, google etc except for the ultimate wealthy and privileged. Soon China will ban VPNs for foreigners.  But I can see Thailand moving closer to the China model. If Thailand ever gets all the way to the China model many people who post weekly on TV about how they believe thai people are bad and Thailand is bad will get their wish and be deported to another country. Written words are easy acceptable evidence to use to deport “foreign born state trouble makers”  in China. Moving to a foreign country and complaining about its people and culture and cops and government and boasting of your own mental superiority is just not smart —-and is actually weird. But to do it in Asia which is lead by China and military governments like the Thai government love the Chinese system is really showing your mental inferiority for not recognizing where you have chosen to live.   Peace.

...And exactly how are they going to check all the countries computers for pornographic stuff or other stuff deemed inappropriate.....

Are we all going to have an "inspection" of our computers every Saturday morning by the authorities.....:cheesy:

Much more of this & Thailand will become one big jail..

I simply keep in mind that freedom of speech does not exist in a great many countries, including this one. Is that so hard to digest? It follows that when you are on a public forum, you simply do not comment on certain things. This was second nature to citizens of the old Soviet Union. If you limit your commentary to cat pictures and hyperbole concerning the scenery and 'culture", you will never face charges.

It's not their objective to prevent porn and other stuff to be stored on computer. The objective is to be able to put any charge they want on someone they don't like, i.e. a New Democracy activist.

It is hard to imagine why anyone living in Thailand would have pornography on their computer when the real thing is available down at the nearest beer bar, Thailand has one great freedom that the USA will probably never achieve. When your country is run by blue-nosed Calvinists, you lose the freedom to be a sexual being. I would much rather have my freedom to criticize the government limited.

Wow. Note to self;  consider never visiting Thailand again unless I leave my mobile phone at home because it might have a picture of a sexy lady in an ad marketing one of the exotic beaches as a romantic vacation destination. Oh, and by the way, who do you supposed might have produced such advertising around the world?

It won't be enforced as such, it will be available to be used to " take down" anyone they want out of the way.

Which is why all the definitions and criteria of what constitutes various items of offense is deliberately left vague. So it gives plenty of scope to fit the law around the particular context and circumstances.

There are quite a few of these available now so upset the wrong people and they've plenty of options to use. And legal and up to the "investigating officer"!
