thaiguzzi
Back from my ban! Had a set of heavier Koni springs for years for my Guzzi that i have wanted to fit. Every trip back to Blighty i forget to buy some spring compressors, so i had to make some arrangement. Mk I; copy what i've seen in the catalogues and on Ebay. What a waste of a day. No workomondo. Popular Post thaiguzzi
Went back to my original idea. If i have a 15 ton hydraulic press, why not make use of it? Modded up some steel plate and a mig bottle top, and with a bit of bodgy-dodgy Heath Robinson (and the help of another pair of 13 y/o son's hands), swapped over some motorcycle springs. Wants a mod or two to become a one man job, and then will be a proper pro set up. Edited July 9, 2019 by thaiguzzi

To the left in the photo, a small collection of nice m/c biggies, V8 nitro drag car, HD S&S, Matchless or AJS 7R/G50 racing piston from Wiseco with a ridiculous CR etc etc, the mashed rod is out of a Lotus Cosworth racing car engine. ty250 mono motors; 3 spare. toofarnorth
Back to the OP question. Over the hills and far away , no rain for the ride out today . What did I do ? Checked the tyre pressures , pressed the button and went.
Isaanbiker
I took my front tire out, drove to Ubon and got the tire balanced. It's a shame that we don't even have a shop that does such an easy task. Just came back from a test ride and bike goes very straight, no vibration, but I had to stop at 165 kmh/ when a dog crossed the road and I saw two others waiting. Life's too short to die on a bike. But who knows when our time has come? I love the joke where a millionaire had won 40 million baht, then quit his job and started travelling. He sat under a coconut tree where he's planning his next steps but he didn't hear the fruit falling.................... 1

Any small bike shop near you could balance em if knew how, you can do it with the wheel still on the bike, it's just a matter of grabbing some stick on rim weights when your passing a tyre fitting shop. johng
Should the area around the exhaust port be that oily? Also looks like a nut is missing off that ex stud? No I don't think it should be so oily, I think someone turned up the autolube pump to maximum so its producing tons of "sploodge" + the exhaust gasket not sealing properly, the nut I removed before thinking to take a photo.About 1/4 liter of oil come out the exhast pipe/baffle. About 1/4 liter of oil come out the exhast pipe/baffle. That will need a serious clean. Cut, clean out, burn, re pack and weld shut. All doable locally. Here's my ty250 mid pipe being reconditioned. Having said all that, a 150 NSR Honda - just buy a new readily available pipe....
johng
I used caustic soda (soda fai) bung up one end pour loads of crystals in then some hot water whist at arms length, let soak overnight next morning flush with plenty of clean water from the hose pipe...seems to work ok.

Popular Post thaiguzzi
Been watching a few YT vid reviews on new bikes. TFT screens, TC (traction control), riding modes, switchable ABS, scrolling menus, yada nada da bing. What The F##k? In the photo below you can see the complicated switch gear on the R/H h/bar side. Its called a twist grip. Or throttle in proper vocab. In the middle is my latest TFT screen version showing precisely RPM and oil pressure. On the left we have a legal recquirement horn button, a hi-lo headlight (lights permanently on - no battery) switch and the bright red here-i-am kill switch. Just out of view between the switchgear and grip is the scrolling function for rider modes and TC. Hitting the horn button twice enables 3 Rider modes; nutter sport-boring touring-gay rain. Likewise hitting the horn button 3 times in quick succession either the horn bleeps weekly (no battery) 3 times or TC is enabled, hard man off, weak boy 1, or girlie 2. The thumb start is in an unusual position, a lever on the right hand side that pivots near your ankle. In the pathetic old days they hilariously called this contraption a kick start. 555 Thanx for watching. Have a nice day. 2
Popular Post ktm jeff
thaiguzzi , im shocked and disappointed you have yet to instal a gyroscope in the mirror , that would allow different engine maps depending on your angle of lean of your tyre warmers preheated track tyres. If your not going to take this motorcycling lark seriously , i shall lock your bike away . ???? Edited July 16, 2019 by ktm jeff 2

Popular Post thaiguzzi
After 24 years service, one of my Fournales air shocks decided not to play anymore, and shot half its oil and air out - seal gone. Made some enquiries, contacted the main suspension people in TH, BDS Performance in BKK, searched and studied on the interweb to no avail. No diagrams, no tutorials, nuffink. Factory rebuild ONLY. Let the remaining air out (run at 9 bar or 145psi stock ! ! !), and got them a bit apart, before realizing, i don't have the special tools, i'm out of my depth (custom internal engraving on parts...) and i'm not gonna f##k a pair of 800$ shocks up. Via a UK distributor, inc return shipping to and fro from the factory in Toulouse, France = 230GBP, rebuild inc new seals and oil, is 230GBP inc 12 month warranty. Not too shabby i thought. I can handle that every 24 years.... Will be in my suitcase on my next visit, meantime, purchasing some cheap & nasty things to tide me over, 71 quid inc vat and P&P to a UK address.......
