Post 65 and especially post 67 not a lot wrong and they were all good handling bikes, .... but, Norton & BSA always made a better chassis. Especially in the 50's and early 60's. But, ........ none of them made a twin cam engine as tuneable or as fast or as good looking as Triumph. Hence Tritons and Tribsa's etc. Edit, those fuel spigots coming off the new taps in those photos are not rusty. In fact they cannot rust. It's just staining and the photos pick it all up. Solly. JAFO
Mounted an Eloop power bank up under my fairing on my R3 to power my GoPro H7 for longer rides. Removed passenger foot peg and stand and drawing up a design to relocate the exhaust hanger to remove other passenger peg and stand. No intention of having a passenger on this moto. canthai55
Finally got on the road again after almost a month. Doctor here suspects I have Degenerative Disc Disease in lower lumbar vertabrae. Not great news. Research on the web, and asking around for non surgical procedures which will help it. All they recommend is stretching exercises, yoga, etc. Or cortazone shots, which would be ongoing and like applying a bandaid so I have found so far. Getting Old is Not for the Faint of Heart. 555

I have a lower back tear. I lost weight, am very good at yoga, stretch a lot, and take massage. But weights is what worked for me. The machines exercising your sides seem to really be the key. Those are the ones I had not seen before. Good luck!

Signed up with Athlean X program, back is fixed, rotor cuff 80% better not to mention my over all shape and physique. Now I just need my bike back. So today, I thought about my bike!
Popular Post papa al
Today was trials bike service day. papa planned to ride out to KMK, ride about 12 k of trail, & then head the Climber over to the nearby humble Thai mocy shop for oil change. change seals in front forks n stuff. Unfortunately, papa had forgot to turn off fuel cock and the Climber tank was MT. Filled her, then was kicking the start lever kick kick kick kick , snap broke it off. Hopped back on ceeber over to the shop n they had one. B280. Noticed low rear tire on ceeber and found puncture, but had plug kit, be prepared, EZ fix. So headed back to dirt bike sanctuary. Didn’t have the wrench to remove kick-lever stub so with difficulty was able to bump-start her & * back to shop where they installed lever. [It wasn’t exactly the same lever but ok til can purchase an OEM ] Thence had him drain and fill the gear/clutch sump with [600ml of 10W30 papa had on hand.] Then indicated to the young mechanic … front seals [which papa supplied]. He told me his dad who could not do that now, had a bad leg, so come back later. Okay no problem. Before papa could ride off, the oldest son said that dad could do it now after all, when he got done eating. After chow we blocked her up and with great difficult removed the front axel. Pretty bad corrosion in there. Front wheel-bearings rough feeling too. 600 ml shock-fluid/ needed 262ml/leg. (cost150) He was able to get her all figured out. Not easy, … exotic asymmetric design. One side damps compression, one damps extension. He drove out the old bearings, from his stock, & installed some new. Topped off my brake fluids, Jr & dad, maybe 4 man-hours work. Total bill for below the * Bearings, fluid, labor. B700. SMH cheap. These guys really don’t speak any English except some motorcycle words. He wanted to return half of the 200baht tip. What a trip. ==>Was able to do the 5K loop; she ran fine as wine. ????
papa al
So when fuel is left on in the Yamaha RZ-X 2T guess the gas drains down thru carb into the crankcase and bike won't start until that is all pumped out? Does that sound right? Seems holding the throttle full open is the procedure. This can be exciting when pushing/bump-starting her down the street; when she fires, beware whiskey throttle. The oil drained from gear sump was bad looking, murky metal-flake gray. And the fluid drained from the fork looked almost as bad. ? Anyway happy ending. ktm jeff
Fuel is leaking past the float needle valve. Maybe carb service needed. Remember to close tap. Nice to hear you have such a great service from local garage.
Popular Post JonnyF
Spun a few laps on my new track. It's getting better the more it's ridden with some nice lines/ruts forming and the dirt compacting. Needs about 50 more trucks of dirt for a couple more jumps and berms. The most fun way I know to get some exercise. 3

The pictures remind me of when they dug a new reservoir in the village and I'd be out on my old DT every day I was up there, just hooning around in it, using the sloped sides as corner banking and jumps. Until the wet season started that is, and I figured I'd get one more ride in it, only to end up bogged down to the back axle. Fun times. Every time I got back from a ride in the wet season, the wife would hose me and the bike down on the driveway before she'd let us anywhere near the house. 2

Once I had that happen bike wouldn't start..for love or money.I ended up taking the carb off (cleaned float bowl but not replaced)and continued trying to kick start all the fuel outwhen suddenly the thing burst into life at full throttle (with no carb ) frightened the life out of me and some passersbys, thank the Buddha for the kill switch. canthai55
Cleaned all the oil off it. Returning from Doi Khun Tan they were prepping the road for new asphalt. Final grade and packing done. They then spread oil - not Tack as we use in the west - this looked like used motor oil mixed with W.T.F. - !!! Both lanes, some in puddles in the low spots, nowhere else to ride, slow as you can and the tires still kick it up. Thankfully I have alloys or would still be cleaning all the spokes. Popular Post thaiguzzi
Finally got Da Guz up and on the hydraulic work bench. Been off the road since June 2016 ferchrissakes! Got a new silicon wax that will actually remove the patina (that i actually like) off the powdercoat on the bike and give it a gloss finish again. There is no black paint on this bike - everything you see is black powdercoat done nearly 20 years ago. Got the back wheel out and found 2 nails. Not bad for a slow puncture - i used to be able to do 80 kms before having to stick air in it... Still undecided whether to stick a tube in or plug 'em. Will ask my Thai motorcycle/tire gurus tomorrow. My Thai auto factors mate has tracked down & located a correct Yuasa dry cell high capacity battery. Same price as i paid for the old one about 8-9 years ago. 3800 Baht. My Dad was over for a holiday over the new year, amongst other stuff he brought (kgs of cheese, English mustard etc AND, most importantly, yellow & black cloth braided HT cable for my Triumph) was a pair of genuine low rise Renthal black alloy road h/bars. A sensible 740mm wide, replacing my 1000m wide (yeah you read that right - a metre wide! hahaha lane splitting thread) custom made beach bars. Dramatically changed the look of the bike. Looking fwd to doing some distance riding again. Pics to follow once finished.

thaiguzzi
16 minutes ago, canthai55 said: Could never stand 'beach bars' Re: tire, remove from rim, patch inside, good to go. Supertrapps !!! Yeah, well, i showed 'em love for the last 19 odd years. They've taken me on 5000 kms plus tours round Europe inc the Alps and Italy and down to the factory at Lake Como - Mandello Del Lario. Taken me to CM and back twice over 1500 kms here. Taken me all over the NE. And they were made for me by one of my employees, back in the day. A set of 1" Harley custom beach bars, cut in the right places and rewelded with 7/8" for the clamps and controls. Then powdercoated. That was 99 or 2000. So, like most stuff i own, they have sentimental value. However.... 80mph is your MAX all day cruising speed. I aint no 30 or 40 something spring chicken no more. They give me arse ache after 100 odd kms. I'm old. Rephrase that - i'm older. I'm more sensible. My tastes have changed. Slightly. Time to put narrower, more sensible bars on that change my posture and take the weight off my arse. May even put another inch or two into the seat. But prolly not - that is going too far. Tyre - removed from rim yesterday, came off surprisingly easy. Will show it to my Thai mechanic mate and car tubeless tire fitting (plug holes) shop tomorrow for their opinion. I'm not too anti tubes in a tubeless tire. Will keep you informed. Thanx. Supertapps ! Yeah, damn right!
canthai55
Ran them on many of my bikes. Like the removable discs, and how you can add or subtract them to decrease or increase back pressure. And sound. And the SS lasts forever, and looks great. I'm not that genned up on tubeless tyres. What's your opinion on plugging (like a car tyre i presume) a m/c tubeless tyre from the inside? 2 small 1" nail holes. I've heard road side emergency tubeless tyre repairs can be plugged from the outside, hence their popularity. Tyre is off the rim awaiting repair tomorrow. I am quite happy to stick an 18" tube in there myself.
