Thai Id Cards

Recommended Posts

I am Thai national married to Brit and resident in UK. I need to change my Thai ID card so that my married name is shown not my maiden name. Does/Has anyone else done this and how? Many thanks for any help. By the way I cannot read or write Thai so I also need to be able to find a way to translate all relevant paperwork! :o

The Thai Embassy won't usually do translations on the grounds that it needs to certify the credibility of the translation. In any case, it is already in Thai. Can't you find a Thai friend to help you through it ? Be aware that the Constitutional Court determined last year that a married woman is now not required to change her name to her husbands family name.
