The three southernmost provinces of Yala, Narathiwat and Pattani are hard-hit by flooding today (Dec 1) with water level steadily increasing from swollen rivers due to continuing heavy rain.

 

Situation in Pattani appears to be the worst as the province is at the receiving end of water mass from Yala and Narathiwat flowing into the Pattani and Sai Buri rivers in Pattani.

 

The Pakaharang community in Pattani’s Muang district, for an example is under 1.5 metre of water and an evacuation centre has been set up on the high ground to accommodate evacuees from the community.

Current govt - "we've won the war against the floods".

Yeah, well maybe they stopped the All Important BKK flooding.

But everywhere else, Isaan, the Deep South - who cares about the peasants....
