Downed poles leave Phuket residents powerless, causes traffic delays

PHUKET: The downing of three electricity power poles about 500 metres from Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort on Soi Karon Nui this morning has left residents in parts of Karon without electricity.

 

However, the Phuket Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) Office, who are currently in the process of replacing the poles, has confirmed that the supply should be reconnected by midday.

 

The incident has also caused traffic problems in the area.

I passed their today and thought it was all about moving the poles back to widen the road. For the last week workers have been clearing the vegetation and using a couple of backhoes. Nothing at all to do with pole falling down .... oh no
