December 10, 20178 yr I'm looking at renting a condo close to Big C on Central road. It has no room internet. The big 3 all offer 4G speeds up to x gig of data, depending on the package. (then throttled outside of the monthly allowance) What 4G speeds could I expect in central Pattaya?
December 10, 20178 yr Author From what I can make out, they offer up to 12/14 gig per month before throttling. That should be plenty as I'm not streaming. I'll primarily be using it for a vpn connection back to my office (maybe 30 mins a day). I didn't see any prepaid option that doesn't throttle.
December 10, 20178 yr Last week I spent lots of time because my Cat adsl slows down at night times and weekends. Since there is no fiber internet availability in my condo, I went Dtac, AIS and Truemove. All of them have 4G based hotspots. Dtac and Truemove dont have unlimited full speed hotspot wifi package, so I eliminate them. Only AIS has reasonable pricing. They ask 1500THb for the Hotspot machine and they have 3 different packages as you can see below. If you dont need high speed and streaming, you can go for 1mbps 300THb per month.. What I did is, I have an extra android phone which has 4G support. I went Truemove and get a new simcard for 49baht and I bought 6mbps unlimited internet 588THB per month. I put it on charge and hide somewhere behind the TV and enabled the internet sharing in the phone. For 5-6 days I use my laptop phones etc without problem. In a day I consume around 3-4gb internet and watch youtube a lot. There is no problem and Im very glad with it. The speed is at the below pic..

TrueMove H does have a Max Speed unlimited 'no throttle' package, at the same price as AIS. 1500 baht + VAT, equalling 1605 baht. DTAC currently have 20 Mbps down for 213 baht over seven days and 8 Mbps down for 535 baht inc VAT over 30 days.

If you want to go with AIS and want a higher speed than 6 Mbps, but don't want to spend 1605 baht a month for their high speed package, you can tailor a 'full speed' package to your needs. In this way, obtaining 21 GB per month for under 540 baht, for an instance.
December 13, 20178 yr In another instance, you can simply go to; https://m.ais.co.th/ontop-package and purchase the 5 GB over 7 days package for 160.50 baht inc V.A.T. So over four weeks, 644 baht inc for 20 GB. Currently AIS are offering 15 GB for the price of 5GB if you click through by the 25th of December. So 15 GB over a month for 488 baht. 500 MB per day might do you, though not sure.
