What to do with old batteries?

Featured Replies

Have replaced my Laptop battery, wondering where i can dispose the old one. Pattaya area. TIA.

If you're passing a Post Office, have a look in there. In the Banchang Post Office last week I noticed a recycling collection box for old mobile phones and other devices. I don't know whether that is just a local or a country-wide initiative.

Bin them. Your one laptop battery aint gunna make an iota of difference to the environment. When all around you stop littering, then dispose of them properly.

Was more thinking of explosion danger ... when it's crushed somewhere.

That sounds a bit like the old concern about using cell phones at the gas station. The Mythbusters could not cause an explosion no matter how hard they tried. I doubt your old laptop battery will cause any explosions either. I put mine in the bin with all my other trash.

You don't have to be as irresponsible as those "all around you". Do you dump all your rubbish by the side of the road?
