Suggestions for Xmas lunch on the dark side?

I was going to go to one of my favourite bars that do a nice Sunday lunch for around 250 baht, but they have jacked up the price for Xmas lunch to 850 baht for virtually the same thing, except they also serve a starter and a dessert. If I'm going to pay that kind of money a air-con restaurant would probably be a better choice. Any suggestions?

Look to be quite a few going on.

I won't be partaking myself but the offerings from Sunny's and Suggestions caught my eye as tempting.

I’m guessing the jacked up price of premium imported turkeys has a lot to do with the money being asked. Of course many of the hotels have raised their rates also due to the increased holiday traffic. If the two are related, perhaps but I don’t really know.

so what are the details there?  what do you get?  how much?

Soup, starter, main course of turkey, pork, beef or lamb, dessert and a glass of wine. 800 baht.

In the UK they use the excuse and it’s valid they have too pay double time for the staff but even some times that doesn’t justify the inflated prices, 3/4 times more than you would pay for a Sunday Lunch.

Thailand Staff will not get double time, veg same price so that only leaves the price of Turkey to inflate the prices ?

It is what it is. I think it's a bit of a rip off as well, but it seem as it's across the board, and it's only once a year, so what the hell.
