Extension of stay: New ED visa vs. Dependency on parents extension of stay

My son 15 year's old are studying full time here in Thailand, in an international school and we are now about to do a new extension of stay for the 3rd time within a couple of weeks, the first two extensions are based upon initially a one year ED visa. He has now changed school, and we were told by the school that he needs to go to Lao for a new Non Immigrant ED Visa . To avoid this would it be possible that he can be a dependent on my extension of stay based  (retirement OA Visa Initially) , and if so what documents are required for him.

His current extension can be changed to one based upon yours for you being his parent.

He will need a letter from stating the date he will no longer be studying so that his current extension can be canceled in order for him to apply for a new extension.
