The national police chief Pol Gen Chakthip Chaijinda said Saturday (Jan 6) that the Thai police would urge the Interpol to help track down former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra who was last seen in a picture in the social media with another woman somewhere in London.

He said his deputy, Pol Gen Srivara Rangsibrahmanakul, had been compiling the latest information about Ms Yingluck to be forwarded to the Interpol through the Thai Interpol to help locate her whereabouts.

The police chief noted that the Thai police had received good cooperation from the Interpol, but they were yet to confirm the ex-premier’s whereabouts.

Let´s just explain this simple.

An urge is not a yes!

Lesson ended.

And that is good cooperation in what way, when they already are well aware of her whereabouts? :cheesy:

I think Interpol should issue a warning to the Thai government to not get them involved in their childish games of face. Keep that s*** in-house. The rest of the world is busy living in the real world.

You can't help "stupid", if this is Yingluck, the photo was obviously taken yeeeeeeears ago.

Look at the above photo enlarged, and you will see no crows feet around the eyes, but below, well this is the mature Yingluck.

Thailand urging to Interpol, come on, for what, to bring her back for an uprising, give me a break, this suites them down to the rice fields !!!

I would ignore this request simply because 1:  The Thai authorities were incredibly inept, or let her leave deliberately to avoid disturbances in Thailand, and 2: the crimes she is charged with come from a dictatorship and coup and the legal system does not meet any standard that would be excepted in a Western country such as England, USA, etc.  Don't waste an iota of energy or pence pursuing this

IMHO, her worst punishment is that where she's now, she's just another

Asian face in the crowd, while back in Thailand she was living the Hi-So

live being revered and idolized by her minions, she might have evaded

jail time for now, but will hang over her head for long time to come...

Loads of Thais around where I suspect she is, she'll be getting stopped in the streets for photos all the time. And she will be living a very Hiso life over there, London is a great city to be based if you have the kind of money her clan have

Since the UK seems to routinely offer refuge to Thai criminals, perhaps Thailand should cease extraditing Brit criminals back to the

UK.

That would make a few unfortunate expats unhappy .......

You do know that in order to urge Interpol you have to fill out the correct Urging Form and translate it to English...

Good luck.

They keep banging the same drum.  Interpol doesn't care, which should tell the Thai political ruling class exactly where they stand with the West.

Or - Interpol is simply using the Thai customer service model.  If the requested service isn't convenient, simply ignore the request.

Interpol won't be interested in any 'urging' by the Thai Police who are listed by the UN as 'a criminal organisation'.   End of !

Are they really? Are you sure?

What the latest status of Thailand issuing any notices to Interpol regarding Yingluck?

Last I saw was October 2017 when Interpol agreed to issue a Blue Notice for its 192 member countries, including the United Kingdom, to locate Ms Yingluck. But in order to issue the Blue Notice, Interpol has asked for more information and documents from the RTP. A Red Notice has not been issued for her arrest.

http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/interpol-asks-information-issuing-blue-notice-yingluck/

With either Notice Interpol does not employ a police force that executes arrest warrants or hunts down fugitives. https://www.forbes.com/sites/insider/2015/07/23/interpol-how-to-catch-a-thief-international-style/#4eb9b0b754eb

Without Notices Interpol will unlikely cooperate to any degree that is within their authority.

Prayut needs to either order the Thai Embassy in UK or a private investigator to search for Yingluck. "Urging" Interpol to action is meaningless. And maybe that's deliberate.

There can only be two reasons for this statement. They are so incredibly stupid that they believe this will actually instigate any action by Interpol or they believe that their subjects are so stupid and uninformed that they believe  their government is actually doing something effective .....or both.

I can just imagine the reply from Interpol

..."was it not you guys who help her escape???"

Wonder if they've ever correctly filled out any forms and submitted them.

They are used to the masses, those who they deem socially inferior of of a lesser class, the vast unwashed majority, to simply accept any crap they're told. No matter if it's blindingly obvious it's a load of BS.

It's only recently with the proliferation of social media, more overseas education, greater access to global communications and the web that people have dared to answer back, laugh at or criticize such nonsense instead of meekly accepting it as they had done for years and years.

And it's hard, almost impossible, for them to accept they can't get the genie back in the bottle. So they carry on.
