Hello guys,

I'm an American in Bangkok, I've just secured an ed-visa but I was told I have to leave the country and go to any Thai embassy then return. Does anyone know if I can go to the embassy in Bali and get this taken care of?

I think you have enrolled in a school and still need to get the non-ed visa from a embassy or consulate. The school will have to supply the required documents to get it.

There is a honorary Thai consulate in Bali. The embassy is in Jakarta.

Not sure what their requirements are for a non-ed. Best to contact them to confirm what they are. https://twitter.com/RTCatDPS

I suspect they will be about the same as the embassy in Jakarta. See: http://www.thaiembassy.org/jakarta/en/services/64472-Non-immigrant-visa-ED.html

Most people go to Vientiane Laos to get their non-ed visas.

I don't recall any reports of anybody getting a non-ed visa in Bali. There might be some from several years ago but none recently.
