The head of Hua Hin police has been forced to admit that one of his finest was boozing in uniform after a clip hit social media.

Constable Anan Meejanphet, 45, was shown with a can of Leo in his hand groping a woman.

Station chief Pol Col Sitthichai Srisophacharoenrat tried to play down the incident saying that his underling was called to a disagreement at a housewarming party of some neighbors he knows well.

But the incident was around 11pm before the constable was about to go on motorcycle patrol duty.

At the party, according to the post online, he arrived out of uniform but was dared to put it on.

Thai Rath countered that he did appear rather inebriated.

The chief has ordered a committee of enquiry to be set up and ordered Anan to be transferred to clerical duties while the investigation runs its course.

"The chief has ordered a committee of enquiry to be set up and ordered Anan to be transferred to clerical duties while the investigation runs its course.", seems a lot of leeway given, maybe a good earner

for the boss.

That officer is a disgrace and should be sacked, he was too drunk to commence his duty as a motorcycle patrolman.

How could he safely ride a motorbike in the normal Thai traffic and he is also carrying a gun.

Usual bulls hit excuses. Play the blame game and never ever accept responsibility!

Is this the attitude that the RTP and Government sees as acceptable? No wonder that (despite the fact there are probably many good RTP officers) the populace does not hold the RTP in any high esteem. Perhaps the local Station Chief should be demoted and moved sideways and the officer concerned be fired! :post-4641-1156693976:

"....and he is also carrying a gun."

One could only hope that should he take the gun from it's holster, it will go off leaving a hole in his foot! A salutory lesson to other gun toting people.
