Surachet Hakpal - the deputy tourist police commissioner tasked with ending the activities of call center gangs - has urged the public to be cautious when receiving police summonses.

He said that the call center gangs were adopting a new ploy sending out false summonses and warrants to con people. If you receive one you should check with the relevant authority to ascertain its veracity, reported INN.

Surachet - known as Big Joke in the Thai media - said that so far 167 victims had been identified. Some 275 warrants had been issued resulting in 162 arrests in the crackdown so far.

not surprised at all, they have described police summonses perfectly, a big joke even if they are real

The boss is a Big Joke, at least they are not hiding it.

Seems to me many people ignore the summons and warrants when they are real.

(The I am too busy excuse, I will come later) It should be relatively easy just to ignore all

of them. Pay no attention until someone actually turns up, then head down to the station.

I thought the deputy prime minister was called The Big Joke??.

must be a few called that
