webfact Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 Tipoff leads to seizure of 200kg of ‘ice’ in Chumphon By The Nation A shipment of 200 kilograms of crystal meth, known as “ice”, was intercepted in Chumphon on Thursday evening. The seizure prompted the Crime Suppression Division to conduct nine searches on Friday morning in the Chiang Mai village where the arrested driver lives, but 70 heavily armed police officers came up empty-handed. Ongart Laokwang, 32, was driving a pickup southbound on Asia 41 Road in Muang Chumphon Thursday night when CSD officials and local police, acting on a tipoff, pulled him over. Pol Col Phumin Pumphanmuang, commander of CSD Subdivision 5, said they found 200kg of ice worth Bt600 million hidden in the truck inside fertiliser bags.
