Nakhon Si Thammarat hit by flash floods

By The Nation

Overnight heavy rains caused flooding in several parts of the southern province of Nakhon Si Thammarat early on Thursday, local authorities said.

They said the rains continued from Wednesday evening throughout the night and many parts were flooded by the following morning.

Thungsong district appeared to be the hardest hit with several villages hit by run-offs and the water levels about a metre high.

The Kapang-Namtok Road in Tambon Kapang was impassable because of the high floodwater level. The district chief has instructed local administrators to rush to the aid of villagers.
