Whilst overcrowded beach resorts will be limited from further growth, either by (A) the usual market-force of supply-and-demand, i.e. when there's standing-room only on this beach, we'll look at the next one along the coast; and (B) limiting bed numbers by prohibiting the building of new hotels, the problem of bus-loads of tourists, from China particularly, spoiling 'normal' tourists' enjoyment of National Parks, temples and beauty spots is more difficult to deal with. Putting gates and turnstiles up and having inestimable numbers of people and vehicles queuing outside these attractions could never be the answer. So, maybe it's simply the 'tour bus thing' that threatens Thailand most . . . OK at Blackpool and Southend, maybe, but not so cool when the temple car-park is blocked with a dozen of these things and there's a pushing and shoving mass people wanting to be first up the steps for the best photograph!

The Thai tourist figures are load of baloney let's face it. The figures they have been using for past 10 years or so are just totals for everyone entering the kingdom no matter what their purpose for visiting is. The number of actual tourists paying for such things as hotel rooms must be a lot lot smaller
