None of those named things are drugs they are supplements you can buy off the shelf in any western health shop.

If you think supplements are

safe and all are not drugs at all you know nothing about supplements. Many have barely any research and that is why they can go on the market especially in the USA. Many supplements there need a prescription or are illegal in another country. One popular supplement in the states is melatonin. A quick google search about American supplements and what is NOT done to put them on the shelf is very interesting.  Your post really should not have likes on it before doing a quick google search. Many are bad for you and have absolutely no scientific base. They just make a lot of money and often harm people. Creative had many negative reports.

Why does this even rank as news.

54 year old found dead in bed.

RIP to him, but with respect to him, so what ?

Remember the Jaws actor Robert Shaw ? Avid gym goer, died at 51

"At recommended doses, creatine is considered "likely safe" to consume. Supplements may be safe for most people, in small amounts, but it is always better to get nutrients from natural sources. In high doses, it is "possibly safe." It is expected that it could affect the liver, kidneys, or heart, although these effects have not been proven."

From the article. Seems to be in line with what Bob12345 posted. Suspected, perhaps, possible, but not proven.

As with all things moderation rather than excess.

LOl... someone else who bothered to read that lengthy waffle ?

but another takeaway is the bit about creatine deficiencies.... which can, amongst other things, be linked to congestive heart failure.

after reading the link, I’m seriously wondering if I shouldn’t be getting some of that into me (just a little bit... nothing excessive ?)

i really don't want to get into this debate too much but if you take alot and run on a treadmill like the clappers thinking your body can take it and then shortly after are sitting on the floor having heart palpitations in the changing room you may question that. yes it can be safe and is also recommended for some types of use however self dosing and also mixing with other supplements could in my opinion be a bad thing

I also don't want to get into this debate but when you run a marathon with blue sunglasses on while licking creatine from your index finger and right after finishing you yell out "ummie nummie" then...

" Police did not offer any clues as to the cause of death saying they would wait for the autopsy."

Wow... the brown clowns must have been reading TVF...

And waiting for the real clues. Looks like they won't be disappointed, eh.

The distinction is just i regulation, I can't say for Thailand but in the US glutamine is an approved drug.

Only an idiot would believe what the police of this country says!

You mean you don't believe them when they said they'd wait for the autopsy? Very shrewd indeed.

No, it can't cause heart failure.

Creatine "naturally occurs" in meat and has never been shown to cause heart failures.

Don't listen to random people telling you random BS.

Nonsense, creatine happening to naturally occur in meat says exactly nothing about the effect from consuming artificially made creatine in massive amounts, so that is worthless info.

As creatine has been shown to cause heart palpitations and an increase in blood pressure it is also clear that you haven't the first idea what you are talking about.

All people considering using creatine as a supplement are advised to have blood work done first, no one with a history of high blood pressure or kidney disease should take it and no one should take it for longer than recommended.

In the past I had a girlfriend I nicknamed cupcake & she wasn't fat;-)

On a serious note; it's always no surprize when hearing of someone passing who smoked, drank, was sedentary & ate crap. A bit shocking when someone who strives for a healthy life passes early on.

The guy who 'invented' jogging died young of a heart attack.

You believe what the pharmaceutical industry writes about the competition?

Yes, but the supplement business is not even close to being a competitor of global pharma.., not even remotely near.

High doses of sodas and soft drinks will do fine.

Most Thais in the villages never visit a fast food joint, since there are none around, and yet many of them are overweight, starting from primary school!

As a matter of fact, instead of being teaching Taekwondo (for mysterious reasons), maybe they should start teaching Sumo in schools...

Hmm...actually, Sumo is Japanese wrestling (as you probably know), and there are Sumo fighters in all weight classes, it’s just that the heavyweights are the most famous (and the ones we get to see occasionally in the West).

Is it true that they are teaching Taekwondo in some Thai schools?

I know two body builders in Pattaya taking steroids, one has passed away, the other 2 heart attacks, beware of steroids just to look good.

A body builder looking good?? A lot of them, not all, are overmuscled freaks.

I'm sure there are plenty of 'naturally occurring' Asubstances that can kill you.....it"s a matter of the dose.

You do know eating too much red meat can cause heart problems right? So I'm not sure where you are going with your comment ☺

Yeah at age 54 it's time to ease into pipe-and-slippers mode. We have many a model worthy of emulation here in our beloved cesspool.
