webfact
Police ‘have not taken action’ over Shinawatras’ recent Beijing visit By ANURAK PENSAWAT THE NATION IMMIGRATION POLICE are waiting for the government and Royal Thai Police to order them to contact China regarding whether former prime ministers Thaksin and Yingluck Shinawatra were in Bejing, commissioner Pol Lt-General Suthipong Wongpin said yesterday. He was referring to a widely shared photo of the siblings apparently buying chestnuts at a mall in Beijing as the city prepares for Chinese New Year celebrations starting on Friday. This was the third time that Yingluck has appeared in public since fleeing Thailand in August ahead of a Supreme Court verdict against her for dereliction of duty relating to her government’s rice-pledging scheme. Thaksin’s youngest daughter, Paetongtarn, also posted two photos of her father on Instagram not long after the Beijing pictures were released on the Matichon website. Photos of Yingluck in London were published twice on social media. Suthipong said the Technology Crime Suppression Division would be responsible for tracking down who had distributed the photo. webfact
Security officers are responsible for pursuing Ms Yingluck: government spokesman By Thai PBS Government spokesman Lt-Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd said Sunday that it was the responsibility of security officers concerned to pursue former prime ministers Thaksin and Yingluck Shinawatra. An image of the two fugitive ex-prime ministers was shown in the social media on Saturday reportedly while they were visiting Beijing to extend well wishes to the Thai people during Chinese New year the coming week. It was not known when the picture was taken. However, Thaksin’s youngest daughter, Ms Paethongtarn, posted in her instagram account on Saturday the image of her father whose dress looked like the one shown in the other image together with Ms Yingluck, with a caption which read that Thaksin extended his well wishes to Thai people during the Chinese New Year. If they try to extradite either of them, it will go to court. If it goes to court, either/both of them will claim unfair persecution and that the Thai court is biased and unjust. Whichever countries court they are in will agree and deny extradition. And Thailand's "justice system" will be an international laughing stock. Enough of these stupid stories; the only way that Thaksin or Yingluck come back to Thailand is if they choose to do so. Period. Popular Post NanLaew
No matter. The good PM will be along shortly, replete with the dismissive flapping of his right hand, to claim that her very existence is of absolutely no concern to him any more. Next week they'll be looking at how to push string uphill. 1

ostyan
I'd be really happy if these two were the only politician garbage on the Earth. Some governments make efforts to undermine the financial backgrounds of their politicians of a kind, but since the followers usually have something to hide too.... Moreover, during their reign, they can hide their illegal money well. Sad, but true we always have s#it in a bowl of rice.
eggers
The "Puppeteer from Dubai" has been swanning around the globe for 12 years, at his leisure w/o being challenged by any Thai officialdom or actions, the same will apply to "Sis" !! Realistically, if authorities wanted to bring them both back would have well & truly happened by now!!! Edited February 12, 2018 by eggers

They may want to bring them back, but they are only too aware of the huge loss of face when extradition is refused due the politics behind the request, it being not purely a legal request for extradition. Enoon
Unthinkable that the Thai State would make waves for China. Or that China would place such potentially useful chess pieces in jeopardy by delivering them to Thailand.
