My son who has British nationality   Thai mother he was born and registered in Thailand is coming to age 30

has a Thai fiancée would like to work in Bangkok

He would like to apply for Thai citizenship as wants to work permanently

What exactly is the question now? If he was born and registered in Thailand he is Thai, he probably just doesn't have a passport.

He just has to go to the Amphoe (take the birth certificate), get a Thai ID card, then get a passport, leave the country with his british passport and come back with his Thai passport.

just after the Thai ID card to work in Thailand does not need work permit as will be Thai  keep British passport for travelling

If he has a Thai birth certificate and is registered in a house book all he needs to do is get a Thai ID at an Amphoe. After getting a Thai ID card he can the get a Thai passport.

No need to get a work permit.

No problem to have dual nationalities.

I don't know if he is save from the army though:

On his 30th birthday he will be safe from being conscripted.

If he hasn’t left the UK yet he should get a Thai passport at the embassy in London before departure to ensure he doesn’t have to worry about visas on arrival.

Following that, he can go to the district office he is registered at and get a new Thai ID card.
