Need someone in Phuket Town to help!

I need someone to go to Phuket Parcel Import Customs House - Phuket Town

This is the problem:

I'm working in Myanmar, and won't be back in Thailand until the end of next month.

In my absence, I bought various things for my electronics hobby and my motorbike. Those that I bought on Lazada were all delivered direct to my ex-wife who lives near Phuket Airport (she runs a small hotel there).

But one item that I bought from a company in the USA has ended up at the Customs House, next door to the Phuket Town Immigration Office, because the US company omitted to put the 'HS' Harmonisation Code on the package, which is needed to identify how much import tax to pay.

So this little package has ended up at the Customs House, because the import tax guys don't know what the item is, and so have no clue about what the import tax is. If it is not collected, it will be sent back to the USA.

My ex has helped me out before to collect parcels from the post offices in her region. But she is unable to visit the Customs House in Phuket Town, because she cannot leave her busy hotel. (This is a valid excuse).

I don't want to send a taxi driver down to the Customs House, because .. er ... they may be mentally-challenged when it comes to dealing with the customs officer (sorry!!).

Rather, I prefer if a foreigner can go on my behalf, (with copies of the parcel receipt and description of the contents etc), pay the import tax on my behalf, collect the parcel and then send it by Thai EMS to my Mailboxes etc address in Bangkok.

Sounds complicated? Not really! But it would really help me out, and I am willing to pay 1,000 baht for your help, plus of course, the costs of the import tax and EMS fee. From my own experience of visits to the Customs House, it will take about 20 minutes at that office - the staff speak English.

Just in case you are worried that the package contains drugs(!), the customs officer will open it in your presence. The item inside is a small ring-type ferrite current transformer that is used to connect my wire radio antenna to my radio receiver (it is basically a matching transformer that I want, but cannot buy in Thailand).

The total cost of that and the shipping from the USA was $88. The transformer was manufactured in the USA.

According to the Thai online database of HS codes, the HS code for that item is 8504.3121 "Ring type current transformer" and the import tax rate = 35%. So the tax to pay will be 0.35 * $88 = $30.80, which is about 1,000 Thai baht.

If you can help me out on this, I can pay you by Paypal or directly from my online Bangkok Bank a/c into your Thai bank account. I can email you all documents to show that you are acting on my behalf (I am also on LINE, so could possibly speak to the customs officer as well).

Much appreciated if anyone can help me out with this problem :)

Just to mention that a very kind TV poster offered to help, and went to the customs' office on Wednesday with various documents provided by me, including a scan of the parcel receipt.

However, the customs officer wants the original paper receipt (!). So now my ex in Phuket has mailed that document (and others) to this member, and she'll visit again next Wednesday.

So almost there with this parcel - and much appreciation to the TV member who is helping me out :)

Ah...........I wondered what happened to your request for help!! Reason being I thought it was from another TV poster and sent him a PM to assist, but he said it wasn't him!!

Pleased that someone has helped out.
