I know this maybe sounds 'anal', but do you propose to get round the junta ban on gatherings of more than 5 people?

Or that you need a work permit to be a promotor / event organizer.

I believe that applies to political gatherings.

I believe that applies to political gatherings.

Nope, apparently applies to any type of gathering.

""No gathering can take place anywhere with five people or more ... Anyone who violates this could be liable to not less than one year in prison," deputy army spokesman Winthai Suvaree said in a televised statement"

Since  when does one need a work permit ( how would you know whether I have one By the way ) or on the verge of breaking the law when organizing a private party at their hone or at a private place  ????? A flash mob is not only at public places....and mob doesn’t mean hundreds of people...in my case, actually , I was looking at 4/5 singers-dancers to appear at a lunch...so...that would still be acceptable ?

Thanks for your concern but if you could come up with some ideas it would be great ??

Well, in that case, clubs, din’er Parties, wedding, bars, hen nights, etc....are illegal

Can you post a link to the source of that statement. It may have been from the days of martial law, which, I believe ended in 2015.

Then next time just say you need 4/5 singers for a lunch and don't try to make it very fancy.

Next time, do not read  between the lines

The first replier answered and I expected replies along this line

But, why didn’t I expect that ?

Sorry to prove you wrong by not being the usual suspect

That seems an odd thing to say.

Last week I went to the wat to pay my respects to a friend and there were an average of some 60 people most of the 5 nights and there were over 100 at the cremation including senior police officers from the local and district police station plus a few people from the provincial office in Khampaeng Phet.

How about a family birthday party with friends, perhaps 30 or 40 people and they want entertainment?

They may have to arrest, fine and jail half the people in the country (except of course the HiSos, police, Army etc).

I shall be in a quiz team of 6 people tonight. Should I be worried ?

Attention Mods

kindky close this topic as none of the answers ( apart from the first poster) have anything to do with my question not withholding the fact that they do have a political flavour

thanks
