I doubt very much the op is worked up about a few pigeons (flying rodents) walking around the yard. They roost anywhere they can.

It really is the only way to get rid of them. They can be relentless initially but even  after few days of pressure you start to see them less.

@ possum 1931.  Power wash all that pigeon crap away you posted in the pics (or have some one do it) They again feel comfy around it and its home to them which is why they are such a domestic nuisance.

on side note  I spent the last 2 weeks or so fending off nesting Doves.  I really like the doves and the sounds they make but they are big nest builders.  With the doves I just slowly pushed them to nest in the big Lumyai trees we have.  They wanted to set up home in my upstairs Sala above the entry door.

We have a HUGE variety of bird species around our home.  I have counted 9 different species .  In the morning and evening it's quite peaceful but it is something you have to manage, pigeons are simply nasty birds.

Firstly, having no interest in photography, I do not know how to do it, my nearest farang friend stays 30Ks from me.

You don't know how to take a photo with your mobile phone?

You don't need an interest in photography to take a photo.  You can get your wife to take a pic.

Possum 1931,

You appear to have done all the right stuff to get rid of the pigeons. I have dealt with this many times in the US as I used to eradicate them for friends. The key is the nesting and pressure. Once they have set up a nest, the fledglings remember the area as home base and return to nest again and again. Spike strips are usually ineffective as they know how to land on them. The key is to block the potential nest building locations and keep the pressure on them, by that I mean do not let them get comfortable (If they have a nest go bother them at night with water or sticks or whatever. They do not like to fly at night as owls will eat them up).

When I finally retired and was home full time in the north I had about a dozen hanging around our house. I immediately started hitting them with a super soaker water gun, knocking down the few nests they had built and shooting them with my pellet gun. I killed half a dozen or so and kept the pressure on them every time they came near and they have since gone and no issues. Once you break the nesting cycle they will inhabit another location and the cycle continues there. Pigeons are basically flying carp as I call it and offer no value.

Good Luck

on Edit, when I say pressure I mean daily and even hourly if you have time. Once you have all the nest knocked down you will have to do this for a few weeks but it works effectively.

Thanks, I just want to know where I can buy a pellet gun, not airsoft. I wish I knew where the nests were, I see plenty of shit on the ground, but no nests above.

Unfortunately, they are illegal without a gun license.

I would not worry about things being illegal, so is prostitution, and we all know about that. But Hey. This is Thailand.

I live in a condo. The pigeons use the spacious balconies of the many unoccupied condos as pigeon lofts as they replicate their natural nesting habitat of cliffs. I would like to stop them visiting my spacious balcony as I occupy my condo and have to clean up their copious droppings. I don't mind other birds visiting but I am anti-pigeon. Would contraceptive feed work in the long term? And how would I target pigeons? I think somebody has suggested a rubber crow as well.

I had the same problem when I lived in a condo in Bangkok. I bought a large balloon with the face of an owl and hung it on the balcony and it worked like a dream:laugh:

Buy a plastic snake and tape it to the railings, so that they'll see it when they fly in. I  haven't had pigeons back for years. No poop - no birds - no problem!

Just get a plastic hawk and statically place it. Move it around slightly after a week.

Can you tell me where I will get one?

They sell plastic owls and falcons on EBay and Amazon and also Lazada but the reviews have mixed results, ranging from “ great, no more poop “ to “ pigeons get used to them and sit beside them “ !!
Popular opinion is that if you move them around regularly they are more effective, or that the falcon is better as it can be hung on a tree or under the eaves and will move with the wind.
The falcon seems quite large though, 52 cm wingspan !!
The owls are 17 cm high.IMG_5070.JPG

Thanks, I have just sent for a plastic owl from Lazada, I have also put mothballs down, but only time will tell if they work. I do have the feeling that when I put the plastic owl up they will just sit beside it.

Another option is a reflective disc or owl shaped plate which rotates with the wind and scares birds ( or pigeons ) away.
The discs look like the better option , comes in a pack of eight and in better taste than the owl.
Cheap in Amazon/EBay (£6 to £10 ) but expensive from Lazada ( £35 to £45 !! )

I’m in the uk so am going to order the discs , worth a try for a tenner !!

Pigeons are larger. broader head. Doves are smaller. more streamlined.

I recommend a quick Google search.

I guarantee from the pics you showed of their crap you are dealing with pigeons.

Seems a little expensive but noticed this in local Home Pro on a display end today - specifically to stop pigeons and birds-

Looks like a collection of metal wires seated in plastic holders and presumably some sort of net but did not closely examine what exactly you got. I only took the pic as I remembered this thread so trying to be helpful.........

Thanks, your help is really appreciated.

It is a trap,.they are pretty easy to make, and the wire door is key.

Again, leave one inside to attract others.
