Why the maximum here and not there (rhetorical surely) ? The sentence for murder under the criminal code is 15 to 20 years or the death penalty. Because of the age of the defendants and their intention was assault but not murder, they were given the maximum sentence that the law would allow. For rape using a weapon, the sentence is 20 years to life. The judge in both followed the laws to the maximum that they had to work with. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
