First Time Make Visa in Savannakhet. Questions?

First sorry for my English.

1)As we know for 2+1 months Thai tourist visa in Savannakhet request financial proof which one is 20.000 Baht in your bank account. And you have to show them your bank statement with 20.000 Baht. As you see in the photo in my bank statement I have 3.420 Euro. So bank statement like this right? It's okay like this?

2)What documents Thai consulate in Savannakhet asking for 2+1 months Thai tourist visa?

-Bank Statement

-Passport

-2 Photo

-Go Thailand Flight Ticket

-Leave Thailand Flight Ticket

-Hotel Reservation

-Passport Copy

-Laos Visa Copy

-Laos Visa Stamp Copy

-Departure Card Copy

Anything else?

3)I'm Turkish citizenship. There is no visa arrival for Turkish citizenships to Laos. One way or another I have to make visa for Laos. Do you think Laos consulate in Bangkok ok for make Laos visa or am I have to go Khon Kaen Laos consulate? I did my last Laos visa 3 months ago in Khon Kaen they just return my passport after 30 minutes later. It was easy. But as I heard right now Laos consulate in Bangkok make some problems for foreigners. But also don't wanna go Khon Kaen all the way and back Bangkok for only make visa.

Is anyone make Laos visa in Bangkok these days? Or have any news from other people?

4)I bought my flight ticket from Bangkok to Vientiane. I'll arrive at the night. After I arrive probably there is no bus from Vientiane to Savannakhet. So after arrive same day I'll stay in Vientiane. Next day I'll go Savannakhet. (Please don't ask me why don't you go Savannakhet directly from Thailand. Because I have to leave Thailand by flight then at the airport immigration Thai government return me around 3000 Baht tax for my iPhone X. So if I go by airplane from Bangkok to Savannakhet. It's pretty expensive.)

How much its cost from Vientiane to Savannakhet by bus? And how many hours? Where can I buy?

I'll back Bangkok on 11 march sunday and 13-14 march go ratchaburi and 14 night leave thailand. so ı have only 12 march monday. so im afraid to take a risk for make visa in bangkok because already bought flight ticket to laos on 14 march night. so sunday night go khon kaen make visa after that back bangkok. it will be super tired but..

The 12th is not a Lao or Thai holiday. If I recall correctly the Lao embassy issues the visa on the same day you apply.

yes bangkok and khon kaen give same day. around 1 hour later. ı think go khon kaen it's ok. just will be tired :)

If you go khon kaen for lao visa why you not take bus from khon kaen to mukdahan bus station and then take bus from the mukdahan bus station right over bridge to Savanakhet . time transition perfect even for thai consulate same morning .

You going spend more than the 3,000 tax refund on buses, flights, extra hotel night etc etc lol .

khon kaen have a 2am tour bus that gets to Mukdahan about 6:00-6:30am for less than 400baht and it perfect timing for the morning 1st or 2nd lao bus (50Baht) to Savannakhet bus station which 12minute walk away from thai embassy . Times work perfectly no hassle if do your own due diligence and ignore tuk tuk and taxi driver advise as they will be scamming you ...

You can fly from Vientiane to Savannakhet on Lao Airlines (weekends and M, W, F). The early morning flight from VTE-ZVK has you in in plenty of time to immediately submit the visa application on arrival in Savannakhet.

Bus from VTE would take many hours. The flight path travels over Thailand and takes about 45 minutes.

promotion fares around 1,600baht from what I seen, can work out as high as 2,800 pending on when book, payment options used (fees/exchange loss etc) .

You must be mad, you could go from khon kaen and get all way to consulate in savannakhet for 400baht in perfect time transition and no hassle. you going spend a pretty sum of money and waste days .

The published fares are $85 one way, or $150 round trip between VTE and ZVK.

However, at that point, you should consider flying directly to ZVK from BKK.

Moreover, if you are already in Khon Kaen, I do not see the need to even fly into Laos, it’s better to just cross the land boarder.

Re the tax refund on the iPhone. Actually, if you intend to keep that iPhone in Thailand and use it here, you should not receive a tax refund on it. The purpose of such refunds is to encourage visitors to shop here and receive a VAT refund when departing with what they purchase. If you are residing in Thailand, the VAT refund is not intended for you.

And, in this case, it seems if you go to the trouble of flying out of BKK, you will end up spending more than the ฿3,000 refund amount anyway. So I would suggest recalculating your plan to save time, effort, and money.

I word of advice on the bus Vientiane to Savannakhet do not get the sleeper /Vip bus. I recently did it the other way from Savannakhet to Vientiane it was pure hell the worst journey of my life you basically share a tiny single bed with a random loa person.And don't have any room to move. How they can call it Vip is beyond belief it wouldn't even be legal in most countries. I did it the other way around once but I can't really remember how much and where from. But make sure you have a normal chair not a bed it's about 11 hours if it's not the Vip one and about 90000 kip. You will probably have 2 get to central station from the border(the green bus) then get on another bus to go to another station (green again) then change to a bus to Savannakhet. Ask when you get 2 central bus station.

On 11 march sunday I'll be in Bangkok. So I can't go Laos consulate in Bangkok for check about they make visa or not because sunday they doesn't working. And next day 12 march monday I can make Laos visa(this is only time I'm free all day before leave Thailand). But as I heard Laos consulate in Bangkok not make visa anymore or make some problems for foreigners. I think they are lazy etc. So if I go Laos consulate in Bangkok on 12 march monday and if they not make visa then I don't have time after all. I have to go Khon Kaen. Because I know in there for sure 10 minutes make visa. Only reason is I have only 1 day. Which one is 12 march monday.

So let's go to what I want you guys understand.

I have only 12 march monday free. Because 13 march tuesday I'll be in Nan and 14 march wednesday as well. But 14 march wednesday afternoon around 4 pm back to Bangkok. And my Thai visa expire on 14 march wednesday last day. So that's mean I have to leave here 14 march wednesday.

So I can make visa in Khon Kaen on 12 march monday then 13 march tuesday I have to Nan and back Bangkok on 14 march wednesday. After all 14 march wednesday night I can leave Thailand.

So I can't go from Khon Kaen to Savannakhet. Because 13 and 14 march I have to be in Nan. You guys said go from Khon Kaen to Savannakhet easy etc. but I can't make it. I have reasons.

And I'm not spend that much money. Still less then take flight Bangkok-Savannahet. And I can't take bus I told you. Because I want get my 3,000 tax but I have leave here by flight.

-2,000 Baht for Bangkok-Vientiane flight ticket

-500 Baht cheap hotel in Vientiane

-500 Baht I think Vientiane-Savannaket bus

Have I missed something? Why not get your Thai visa in Vientiane?

save the extra time, and money and hassle of going to Savannakat.

And next day 12 march monday I can make Laos visa(this is only time I'm free all day before leave Thailand). But as I heard Laos consulate in Bangkok not make visa anymore or make some problems for foreigners. I think they are lazy etc. So if I go Laos consulate in Bangkok on 12 march monday and if they not make visa then I don't have time after all. I have to go Khon Kaen. Because I know in there for sure 10 minutes make visa. Only reason is I have only 1 day. Which one is 12 march monday.

So let's go to what I want you guys understand.

I have only 12 march monday free. Because 13 march tuesday I'll be in Nan and 14 march wednesday as well. But 14 march wednesday afternoon around 4 pm back to Bangkok. And my Thai visa expire on 14 march wednesday last day. So that's mean I have to leave here 14 march wednesday.

So I can make visa in Khon Kaen on 12 march monday then 13 march tuesday I have to Nan and back Bangkok on 14 march wednesday. After all 14 march wednesday night I can leave Thailand.

So I can't go from Khon Kaen to Savannakhet. Because 13 and 14 march I have to be in Nan. You guys said go from Khon Kaen to Savannakhet easy etc. but I can't make it. I have reasons.

And I'm not spend that much money. Still less then take flight Bangkok-Savannahet. And I can't take bus I told you. Because I want get my 3,000 tax but I have leave here by flight.

+3,000 Baht from tax
-2,000 Baht for Bangkok-Vientiane flight ticket
-500 Baht cheap hotel in Vientiane
-500 Baht I think Vientiane-Savannaket bus

So everything total 3,000 Baht and I already got 3,000 Baht from tax. So I spend nothing. 3,000-3,000= free lol

But you guys said take flight from Bangkok-Savannahet etc. It's around 7,000 baht at 8:25 pm because as I said I can't take flight 14 march wednesday on morning because arrive Bangkok afternoon from Nan. I also get from Nan job around 10,000 Baht for 2 days.

Now am I clear? :)

The bust from Vientiane to Savannahet is about 90000kip 340THB

It goes from the southern bus station you might have 2 change half way they will tell you on the way.I think the normal bus takes about 11 hours.

To get to the southern bus station you might have 2 go from Central Station (Morning Market bus station) which will be 5000kip. But that depends on where you hotel is.

You will find it hard 2 get a hotel in Vientiane for 500THB Probley more like 700-1000THB.Maybe if you stay outside the centre.

What time dose you flight arrive in Vientiane?

And then again walking distance to the Thai embassy. But remember you will need to stay 2 nights in Savannakhet so if you want 2 go out at night there might be better places to stay. But the main bit if you can call it that lol is about 40 mins walk from that hotel.

Planning ahead here. I need to go to Savannakhet on or before 1st May. My guess is they will be closed on 1st May for Labour Day. Does anyone know for sure? Thanks.

Also......I can't find the link, I think posted by UbonJoe, that had both the Thai visa and Laos visa application forms. Any direction would be much appreciated.

Are the Laos visa forms A4? I seem to remember they being smaller. Maybe I am mistaken. I might be thinking about the Arrival/Departure card.
