Depends where the OP is from, tough to reply to his question...

Have I missed something here? Is the OP not asking what you, the posters miss from your home country?

What do i miss from home? Absolutely nothing,

Almost any western food i want, i can get.

rc2702 mentioned pies, well around Khonkaen there are several places making / selling pies, spoilt for choice.

What sort of pies Colin? Not the meat or steak pies you get in Scotland.

I miss my truck, snowmobile, ATV, American food in general.  Decent American food so very hard to find.  I cook up what i can, but i am still missing some items.  Most of the time its fine, and then i am viewing a website from the states and that "ad" pops up with your favorite food.

Mostly its food i miss.

The only material thing I miss back home in the US is my Suzuki GSX1250FA. I bought it prior to my first visit to Thailand in 2014.   But I am content with my current ride Sayfon, my wife of 4 years.    I also frequented Jimmy's Steakhouse in Columbia, Mo.  Jimmy migrated from Greece in the 70's and along with his wife an son operate the restaurant. He serves some the best flame-broiled steaks for the price in the area.  And before somebody says it, no you can't get a steak of the same quality, price with conversation anywhere in Thailand.

The sausages, bacon, and fish you get in Makro are nowhere near as good as what you get in the UK.

Then don’t buy them from there then......there are plenty of other sources of decent English style meats.

A good steak house will not be found here that can compare to a US steak house.  Even some of the chains are better than the best steakhouse in Thailand.

I didn’t come to Thailand for steaks.

That said, I had a very acceptable Wagyu rump steak in Asiatique last night.

As you can see you have the question above, and that one is individual for all readers. In real words it has noting do do with where the OP comes from.

I'm from the UK.

What do I miss from home (apart from family and friends) ...

French bread and cheeses

Affordable Aussie/NZ/etc. wine

NZ/Aussie lamb chops

Jersey Royal potatoes

Belgian beer and chocolates

Proper Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi curries (English style)

Chinese (Hong Kong, Cantonese) take-aways

HP sauce (now made in the Netherlands)

Guinness

you must live in a remote place in Thailand. All the food you mentioned is in supermarkets and probably cheaper and better than the UK. Proper Indian/Pakistan and Bangladesh food is the only type of food thats any good in the UK

It was a tongue-in-cheek reply - but if you can tell me where to find Jersey Royal spuds and French cheeses that are cheaper than in UK supermarkets, I would be very happy.

Agree possum , so to the OP I miss proper beer such as Hicks Special Draught as found in Cornwall.  Bottled sort of lager as found here .............1 bottle is really enough.

Coming from Australia, I miss:

  • Decent surf beaches
  • Natural wildlife everywhere once you get out of the cities
  • Being able to fish and catch a feed just about anywhere
  • Being able to walk anywhere without being hounded by dogs
  • A traditional Aussie barbecue
  • A good steak dinner

  What I miss?

         1. Lower Franconian wine in Bocksbeutel.

         2. Garlic steak at Schuetzengarten in kitzingen.

         3. The sound of a German cop's siren before I get stopped.

         4. White Asparagus and somebody who makes them eatable for me.

         5. Flying with my Ultralight plane.

         6. Rock Concerts with bands who play twice as long as they'd play here.

         7. My sister and brother.

         8. My friends.

         9. A Weihenstaphan, too expensive here.

         10. The house where i have lived in for most of my life which now belongs to somebody else. :shock1:
