Popular Post xylophone Posted March 12, 2018 Popular Post Posted March 12, 2018 I still remember one of his lines and still chuckle at it: "What a lovely day for sticking a cucumber through the vicars letter box and shouting.........the martians have landed'. Of course when I moved to NZ they didn't understand it as their letterboxes were in the road, not in their front doors! 1 1 2

Popular Post Queenslander Posted March 12, 2018 Popular Post Posted March 12, 2018 Fortunate to work backstage on two of his Christmas Specials at the Royal Court Theatre. A gentleman, with a great sense of humour and equally importantly the knowledge and acceptance of who he was and where he came from. Still have the signed handkerchief he gave me...the Diddy Men will be no more. RIP 1 1 1

evadgib Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 Quote "The man who invented cats' eyes got the idea when he saw the eyes of a cat in his headlights. If the cat had been going the other way, he would have invented the pencil sharpener." 1
lungbing Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 'What a beautiful day for going to the Russian Embassy and saying " Is Len in?"' I saw him three times at the Theatre Royal, Nottingham. One time the woman next to me looked like a panda as she had non-waterproof makeup on and she was crying with laughter. RIP Doddy. 1

"........lovely day for shouting Jack de Manio through Beverley Nichols' letter box" Most obscure (now), but lodged firmly in my mind ever since I heard it in black and white.......on the "wireless".
