Dumb question?

Featured Replies

Maybe this is a dumb question, but am I allowed to bring a knife from Vietnam into Thailand (not carry on bag of course)?  I may be planning a trip to Vietnam next month and there's a blacksmith village I want to check out.  At that village, you can make your own knife under the guidance of a Vietnamese blacksmith.  Obviously I will want to keep the knife after I make it but I'm afraid I will have issues bringing it with me back to Thailand.  Thoughts?

I flew in from the USA with a machete in my check-in luggage a year ago.

Their is no law against "knives" in your checked luggage, only firearms, so there is no reason to declare it or worry about it coming back into Thailand

Like anyone's gonna check lol

Have you seen what's available on market stalls throughout the country?

It would be a bit hypercritical to stop anyone from bringing one in I'd have thought.

Like I've said on many occasions. You could bring a corpse into LOS in your checked baggage... as long as you didn't declare it.

Why wouldn't the let you bring your gun?

You need to get a spell-check app, I suggest "Grammarly".  Also, none of the guns I own would have been of any use to me while cutting out banana trees or bamboo on the farm.
