Health Insurance

Featured Replies

Hello guys,

I need your help. I want to have an insurance but I do not want to get involved with Thai Social Security since I wont be staying here for long. 5 years maybe. Do you know any health insurance or can you please suggest one that is not that costly but with good coverage? (Hospitalization)

Thank you

IF you intend to stay about 5 years I would recommend Pacific Cross.

Their prices are in my opinion quite good with a good coverage.

The only downside is not that important when you only stay arround 5 years. The problem, because this one is thai based they are allowed to increase the premiums 25% per year when you have a bigger claim. meaning after you have big claims for 3 years you will pay double the normal price already.

But they also have many advantages like you not need to pay in advanced. you can have discounts for deductibles or when you not want OPD.

I do nto understand the part about "I do not want to get involved with Thai Social Security since I wont be staying here for long."

If you qualify for SS then you should certainly make use of it.  You will not have a choice about payroll deductions in any case, they are mandatory under law.

Please explain.

There are many private insurer options and rates do not  differ all that much for the same level of cover (there is some difference, just not huge).
