Why is this allowed?  I suspect it is to protect the payers of bribes to Pattaya Plod from any investigation.

It's allowed because at that stage they are not proven guilty of anything and it is their right to hide their identity, why shouldn't they be allowed that privilege?

Like there were no other police officers involved in other investigations, everything came to a halt, did it?  Party on dude.

It is hardly surprising the perpetrators of real crime seem to carry on with impunity, when the police are fully occupied in such large numbers chasing gamblers.

Pattaya police were all fully occupied with this one raid, were they...really?  No policing going on anywhere else?  Or are you just making that up?

"...when the police are fully occupied in such large numbers chasing gamblers".

How many police were involved that made up "such large numbers" or are you embellishing what actually happened by counting the military and other agencies as RTP personnel inorder to have a Pattaya police-bash?

I have never known a strategically stimulating gambling game in Thailand, like poker.

Nothing that you can learn and get good at. Always just this "pick a lucky number" type thing.

Just like plenty of the unskilled gambling, not just poker, that goes on in your own country, then, not just Thailand.

I pretty sure that whichever western country he is from, gambling such as poker is commonplace and that he is just being a hypocrite, so, no, I am not just making it up, it was a reasonable assumption.  I also know that he has not been back to dispute what I said.

Why are such raids allowed? What's wrong with gambling?

You really don't know?

Gambling (other than the official lottery........) is illegal in Thailand.
